More Zihua Photos

Sand castle building in Playa La Ropa. Navi of course destroyed everything anyone built.
Even outside the pool, while the adults took a break, the twins' managed to make a game out of toweling off.
Walks in the town center were fun.  Daddy Jason was the "it" daddy to hold hands with, sit next to at dinner and swim in the water with.
Yummy helados (popsicles) while the adults had beers, at 11AM!
Every night the twins dined out in the town.  At the favorite Mariscos (seafood) restaurant, Ada loved the octopus and ate it on her own.
These two were troopers. After a flight delay in Zihua and another long one in Los Angeles these two should have been going crazy.  But they handled themselves well through out the whole trip home and finally got into their warm comfy beds at 1:30AM.

A Family Portrait

How's this for a family vacation photo?

Beach Videos

At the beach, Navi was in the water every time he had the chance (supervised of course).  He really enjoyed jumping the waves.

With daddy Jason next to him, Navi enjoyed riding the surf and diving into the surf, which he did on his own a couple of times after watching other's do it.

Ada did get in the ocean water a few times.  She was much more comfortable getting in at Playa Las Gatas, which was protected by waves by a barrier in the water. (In the audio, those were the best fish sticks ever!)

Beach Bums

Ada and Navi spent time on the beach everyday - in new bathing suits.
The daddies learned from the last beach vacation, Akumal, and straight away bought sand toys.
There were many sand castles built and Navi the Destroyer leveled everyone of them.
Navi loved loved loved the beach.  At Playa Madera, right off our hotel, the waves were small and the beach was shallow.  Even when some of the bigger waves came he was not afraid and was very brave to walk in quite a distance in the water (with papa Jason behind him or next to him).
Ada preferred the pool over the ocean...
But she still managed to have a little fun on the beach.

Zihuatanejo, Mexico

Last week the twins had to get up very early in the morning to catch a flight.
There was a stop in Los Angeles to pick up UncleBrad. The twins did pretty good on the flights.  It was easier for the daddies not that they are older.
After banana splits, a great dinner and a good night's rest the fun began the next morning.  Shoes were optional for these two every morning walking down for breakfast.
 The view was not bad.
And then they were introduced to the beach they would be spending their time in for the next week, Playa Madera.

From The Files:

What do you do on a rainy day? Play indoors or course.

Monday, March 19, 2012

From The Files:

Even though there was a day with non-stop rain last week, there were still a few plants in the front garden and doorway that needed a little help getting water.  Ada and Navi were there to help - kind of.

So Long Rain, Hello 90˚F

Guess who's ready for some fun in the sun?  Hasta luego...

Busy Thursday

Swim class is back on track.  The twins are loving their teachers and enjoying their time in the water.
At 'exercise class' Ada got a little shy in the middle of class so she sat out for a few minutes.  Navi had fun, although he did not show it, leading the train around the studio.

A Rainy Day

It's been a while since the last time the twins went to the Academy of Sciences.  It has started raining in the bay area so it was perfect museum day.  Notice there's 5 eyes that light up with the flash, 2 of Navi's 2 of Ada's and 1 of a fish next to Ada.
"Daddy look, I did it! Daddy look, I did it!" Exclaimed Ada and this is what daddy Quique found when he peeked in the Eel Garden Cave, 'Ada Monroe.'
After the museum it was off for haircuts and Mitchell's ice cream afterwards.  Navi chose his flavor by listening to daddy Quique tell him what was available.  Ada chose her flavor visually.  Navi had mango ice cream and Ada had papa Jason's favorite flavor as a kid - purple! (Ube, purple yam)

Lopez Ski Weekend

Even though there was not a lot of snow the Lopezjones' and family made it up to Squaw.  It was a small group this year. Ximena loved following Ada around and enjoyed reading to her.
There was lots to do indoors.  Abuelita helped Benji and Navi construct a train set. These two were quite the trouble makers when joined forces.
For an outing everyone visited lake Tahoe and threw rocks.
Before leaving the lake Benji, Navi and Ximena climbed a rock wall at the nearby playground.  All three did great.
Getting down, on their own, was much more of an issue and required a little assistance from TioLeo.
In another outing, to The Village at Squaw, Navi was the only brave soul out of the kids to try the Sky Jump. He was so excited to jump and kept saying he wanted to go upside down, meaning he wanted to do flips in the air.
He was a little too small to do flips, but boy did he try.
Papa Jason helped him out in getting some air.
On the final day there was some snow coming down and the wind had picked up quite a bit.  Ada could not stand the cold, she did not last much outside.  She also refused to wear warm clothing throughout the weekend.

She Likes It

Ada finally got her groove at swim class. All it took was a new class with a female teacher.  Thank you to the swim school for opening up a new class for Ada, and one more student yet to join, that starts a few minutes after Navi's class begins.  She loves her new teacher, Monika, and best of all there was no more crying.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the pool.  Navi got to jump into the deep end. (Note: Uncle Brad was visiting, he's seated next to where Jason is standing)
This was new to him and the other two boys and they enjoyed it.

The Dentist: Round Two

The twins went to their 2nd dentist visit yesterday and it went fairly well.

Navi did so well, he impressed and made his daddies proud.  The dentist was able to see, poke and prod his mouth with out any complaints from Navi.

Ada on the other hand, she had to sit on papa Jason's lap, but she did okay with the dentist taking a look at her mouth.
The true test came later and Navi was ready for the hygienist to clean his teeth.
Not a flinch! He was such a super star.  Ada was a no go, maybe next time.  Her excuse was the mechanical chairs that reclined, "Ada no like sillas." (Sillas = Chairs)

Overnight Guest

ZiaNonna visited the twins over the weekend and got to spend Sunday with them.  She brought them gifts, sticker books (with over 700 stickers), and here's what Ada did with hers - created a new shirt.
ZioRoger also joined in on the weekend fun.  Here he is trying to teach the kids a nursery song on the xylophone.

An Afternoon In Los Gatos

Saturday, after Noah's birthday party it was off to Los Gatos to celebrate the lives of two of Grandpa's cousins who passed away. There were a lot of relatives on Grandpa's side, many who were meeting the twins for the first time.  Ada was not he usual shy self.  She had a lot of fun with her Nonna by her side.
Navi had fun exploring on his own. And Liam, the only other child there who is Navi's third/fourth? cousin twice removed? or something like that - we'll just say cousin, had so much fun following him around. Everyone had fun at the party and fun watching the three youngest people there.

Happy Birthday Noah

Noah had a second attempt at his birthday party on Saturday, he was sick on the original date of the party. With hard hats avail and construction activities a plenty the twins, Noah and his many friend had wonderful time celebrating.  Navi loved the green part of the cake and the construction equipment it was decorated with.

Late, But Yummy Start

Ada showed up next to her daddies bed a little bit after midnight and Navi at 3:30am, but back to their beds they went. With that, they woke up just a half hour than their usual time.
Daddy Quique was somewhat awake so he got out of bed to make them breakfast. Not their usual cereal, mini-pancake/waffles.  They loved it.

Finally She Swims

Ada swam, a little bit, for the first time yesterday in weeks. All it took is for her past teacher, Jackie, to jump in the pool and force her to do some swim exercises. It wasn't all sunshine, but at least she got to swim a little.
