A Weekend With Marky

Last weekend Marky his mom and Abue spent the weekend with the twins in order to attend the twin's school fundraiser gala.
Marky was being a picky eater this time around, but was still made to sit at the table. He ate apples and bananas.
The twins spent the morning at Dolores Park playing with their cousin.
Later they headed to the twins' Nonna's house for lunch. All three kids spent most of their time playing computer games. Ada and Navi had a fun weekend with Marky.

The Sleepover

Navi was supposed to have a sleepover at one of his classmates house, but it did not pan through. PapaJason however did line up a sleepover for Ada, which did pan out.
Bea and Vienne came to spend some time with Ada. And Navi too, once he realized Vienne had brought her Pokemon card collection.
They stayed for dinner. Bea stayed for the sleepover, but Vienne was not quite ready to spend the night since her move to San Francisco from Amsterdam. They had a great time all four of them.
The next morning Ada, Navi and Bea went to Dolores Park. Bea started a fun trend at the park, jumping off the climbing wall.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Ada was counting down the days to March 17th, and when it got here-her hair turned green. She was the most excited in the Lopezjoneses household for St. Patrick's day. Navi was excited too, but his excitement was because he chose NOT to wear green so he can be chased by pinching fingers.
After school the twins went to Golden Gate park to fly their mechanical birds they got for Christmas.
It took some getting used to, but they got it to stay in the air a bit.
The evening ended with a special dinner from PapaJason, corned beef with cabbage and potatoes. DaddyQuique topped of the meal with special 'green' Mississippi Mud Pie cups.

Oh Sunny Days

Sunday was a beautiful sunny day in the bay area. With daylight savings time the Lopezjoneses got off to a late start, but decided to head out on a bike ride in Half Moon bay. But first, dinner. They went to the harbor to see what the fishermen were selling.  They found live sea urchins...
And live crab. Ada and Navi were excited to be able to shop for dinner right off the boats.
Then they were off on their bike ride. Gorgeous day and a perfect bike path.
They stopped for a picnic lunch half way through.
And made a few stops to see the scenery.
 Beauty all along the coast.
Later that evening it was time to get cooking. While Navi took a bath Ada was more than happy to help out in preparations for dinner.
She did more than help, she took over!
A few of the more difficult tasks the dads did, but everyone enjoyed uni and crab pasta for dinner.

Calcio Begins

On Saturday the twins had their first soccer match. Lucky for the Daddies both Ada and Navi had their game in the same field as the same time side by side!
And it was Gian Marco's first game as the official coach for Navi's team, Draghi Blu.
Navi was super excited for his game to start. And he was the star of the team that day.
He scored two goals including this penalty kick which flew over the opposing team and their goalie's head.
Ada was also excited, but a bit shy to show it. Here she is doing a great ball throw form the side lines, she's in grey shorts.
As excited as she was about the game she was also happy for the camaraderie between her team mates, who all happen to be girls from her class.
Navi's team won 6-0 and RagazzeVeloce lost 1-2, but the girls played a fantastic game. Afterwards a few of the kids from both team went out of chicken wings and beer-the beer was for the adults. Ada and Navi were happy to introduce and American culinary delight to a couple of their friends, who growing up in Italy, have never had tater tots.

The Day Long Outing

On Friday the twin's school was closed for professional development and so at 8:30am, which is when their school begins, they headed out for a day of fun.
Their first stop was at Pier39 to see the sea lions. Then they did an interactive game ride within the touristy spot. They enjoyed it immensely as they were the only ones to participate on the first ride of the day. The ride is with in a mini movie theater like space with 20 seats that move around, rumble, vibrate and blow air at you as you watch a 3-D movie that you get to shoot a laser at certain characters.
Next they played on an interactive piano, which they have done before, but were much too young to remember.
After a pretzel for a snack they walked to Fisherman's Wharf. Navi wanted to check out the WWII submarine that he saw form a distance. They got to see if from the outside, the tour on board was a bit pricey.
It was a lot of walking with plenty to see all around. Street performers, wild life, storefronts and tourists all around.
Then they made it to the Musee Mecanique to play some old-fashioned video games.
Prices ranged from one quarter to fifty cents.
Ada remembered one specific game: Whack-A-Mole.
After a bit of shopping at some of the tourist shops they headed out of the tourists area and walk towards downtown with a stop at the Levis Strauss Plaza (yes the Levis that makes the jeans). There was a cute sandwich shop so they decided to have lunch there.
They found a perfect spot hidden among the well maintained POPOS (Privately-Owned Public Open Spaces and Public Art). They were fascinated by the fountain with had giant stepping stoned all around the water.
Lunch was a sandwich and a salad. It was a really good sandwich, but for some reason they preferred the salad better. What's wrong with an avocado and turkey sandwich with olive tapenade and pesto aioli?
After lunch they hopped on the train and stopped at the Ferry Building to use the bathroom and freshen up.
Then it was a another stop at a playground to burn off a bit of energy from the cupcake they had.
Heading home they stopped at Dolores Park to meet with a classmate for more outdoor play. Their day ended at 4:30 when they finally made it home.
At home PapaJason had prepared a wonderful dinner, make your own Poke bowls.

Weekend Outings

Over the the weekend Ada attended an all-girls birthday party. Navi and his Daddies went out for a walk.
They trekked to Wave Organ art instillation to listen to the sounds of the waves.
It was a fun walk out there.
They then headed back, but stopped at the Palace of Fine Arts before picking up Ada from her party.
With a heave downpour at night, the next morning's weather report called fro more rain. It was on and off, so the Lopezjoneses stayed indoors, but did manage to go out for lunch. PapaJason ordered an intestine soup, that was too strong for him, but strangely the twins enjoyed it-specially Ada.
At home they worked on a puzzle, a 3-D puzzle.
 Everyone was excited to help.
And together as a family completed it with plenty of time for a board game afterwards.
