La Scuola Spring Concert 2018

The end of the school year approaches and nothing marks the times like the bi-annual La Scuola Concert.
The twins sand a few songs as a class.
And one in Spanish, too.
They also got to do a song with their instrument group and in the end a final performance of the school song played by all 3-6 graders together. It was awesome!
Always a little bit of time for play.

Canada

Friday night the twins headed over to Cabbagetown at a friend of Francesca's for a celebration.
Her engagement, congratulations. And many thanks to both of them for hosting the Lopezjoneses.
Their cousin Luca was there, Alessandra's son, he followed Navi around and had a good time.
But in the end, like any adult party to a kid, boredom gets the best of them. So all three watched a movie together.
This is Navi trying out vegan bacon. One bite is all he took.
The other reason for visiting Toronto was for Jason's relative Nicola's wedding. Sadly, not many pictures were taken, but here's Ada and Luca - he was the ring boy in the wedding.
Before heading back to California there was some time for sight seeing. The twins visited the CN Tower.
And the train yard next to the Anchor Steam Brewerey, which the adults did have a taste of their beer.

A Little Trip Up North

Thursday morning the twins had to wake up really early in the morning to catch a flight to Toronto, Canada.
Near the airport they stopped in Missisauga.
The first Canadian relative to greet was Renata.
Driving across Toronto the twins made it to their destination for the weekend at Francesca's home. That evening Francesca and Caitlyn hosted the Lopezjoneses to a very delicious dinner in their garden.
Ada found an immediate friend with Mattie.
The next day, the twins walked to lunch in the nearby Green District of Toronto.
For a delicious vegetarian lunch.
Mattie even stopped by during her lunch our to join us.
And afterwards there was gelato of course. Dark chocolate for Ada and Limone for Navi.

Super Busy Weekend

The Lopezjoneses weekend began with a dinner at the twins' school mates house. At the kids table they had pesto pasta, meatballs and an arugula salad. All the kids had a lot of fun staying up really late.
Saturday morning started off with a 9am soccer game in the Outer Sunset. After that, Navi had a piano recital and then the twins met Nonna and Grandpa for lunch.
Later that evening it is off to the pre-school campus for La Fiera Di La Scuola (school carnival). Everyone in the family volunteered to help in some way. Navi had volunteered to run a game stand.
Ada was put to work in getting thing ready in other booths.
The following morning, back in the outer sunset Ada had her final game of the season.
Sadly her regular coach Savannah left for grad school so an interim coach had to step in for their game. They played well and ended their season in high spirits.

End Of The Season

Navi had his final soccer game of the season. His team mates were all very excited for their final game. Sadly the lost 0-1 to a very good team. They put up a great fight and in the end everyone had fun!

Adriani Visit

Elio and Ave made it down to the bay area for the weekend. Nonna and Grandpa wanted in on the fun too and made it over for dinner.
One morning Ada decided to make breakfast for everyone.
Navi took orders and Ada baked. It was a fun weekend for all.

Art Show

La Scuola had their annual art opening at the Minnesota Street Project art gallery this year. And Navi wanted to come to the opening.
He and DaddyQuique arrived early enough to enjoy and see the art displayed. Navi described his art as messy, but realy (the piece above his head) it was the only unique painting of a Pegasus out of the bunch.
Supporting the arts!

Salinas Weekend

The twins got to spend the weekend in Salinas. DaddyQuique dropped them off Friday and returned Sunday to pick them up.
Sunday afternoon they had a party for Mester, the twins' great grandmother, at their TiaDalila's house. Ada found Jessica's (the eldest daughter who moved out) room has been turned into an aviary.
And Navi had a really wiggly tooth. He later pulled it out. Looks like the tooth fairy will be visiting him soon.

Day To Day Activities

To end the weekend the twins invited their friends Gemma and George over for an afternoon play date. It was great in the beginning, but by the end it was getting a little too loud. So they all settled down on the spiral staircase to watch a movie together.
This week at soccer practice there was a miscommunication about the girls coach. Their regular coach went off to grad school and their new coach was not able to start until next week. DaddyQuique stepped in as coach. First thing he did was choose a player to coach the practice. I started well, but in the end they were just out there running around having fun.
