Toronto - Then & Now

This was not their first time to Toronto. But they probably don't remember ever going up the CN Tower, now the third tallest structure in the world.
The last time they were here none of them could walk.
He had a little more hair then.
And she has a little more hair now.
They both can't wait for their next trip back.

Toronto - The Islands

Yes, Toronto has several small islands right off of downtown.  A quick ferry ride and you feel far removed from the big city.
There was a lot of open space, Navi and Ada were super psyched to run around and chase the Canada Geese, or just Geese as they call them up north, icks-nay the 'Canada.'
After a huge American portioned sized lunch the twins got a little treat.
After a walk to the beach everyone soaked their feet in Lake Ontario. The water was not cold.
Taking another ferry on another island...
...this was a passenger and car ferry.
The views were unbeatable.

Toronto - Niagara Falls

For a side trip from the big city the twins headed to Niagara Falls, on the Canadian side, where the views are better than the American side. You can see both falls, the American Falls and Horseshoe falls, directly from Canada.
There was time for a little boat cruise and there was some handy panchos given to everyone
Ada was not too keen on wearing hers, but managed to put it on.
The panchos were great, it was a very wet boat ride, but quite beautiful as well. Here's Horseshoe Falls (Canadian side) with lots of mist.
There was even a rescue in progress.  A man had jumped off the falls and was the third person in history to survive (without out any safety gear).
The American Falls (American Side).
The twins did so well during the boat ride and it was so hot outside that they got a special treat, ice cream.

Toronto - Victoria Day

The twins got to experience Victoria day, celebrating Queen Victoria's birthday.  And it was the best weather in many years for the holiday.
Francesca was having fun playing with Ada and Navi and they enjoyed it too.
There was a big meal al'fresco with way too much food. And all the relatives were invited.
Right before bed it was time for pyrotechnics. Navi liked the sparklers.
But when the neighbors brought out the big guns he was not so sure, he liked the lights but not the sounds.  Ada was no where to be seen, she ran inside to flee the pops and bangs.  Happy Victoria Day.

Toronto - Part Two

The twins had so much fun at Renata's house, where they stayed during their trip.
There was a big and beautiful garden for them to play in.
Lunches were deliciously cooked/prepared dishes of our host, Renata.
The first outing happened with out Ada, she was feeling a little blue so she stayed home and slept.  Everyone else headed out for coffee in Little Italy.
Like North Beach in San Francisco, the Little Italy in Toronto was loosing it's Italian charm, but still a cute place to stroll and shop.

Toronto - Part One

Last week the twins rushed to the airport right after pre-school.  There they met a few familiar people.
They were on the way to Toronto to visit family, on the Italian side.
Even though they got to Toronto at midnight (9PM CA time), they were ready to play.
But only little play was had, these two had to go to bed!
The next day they were ready to have fun...

Tuesday Outing

Navi is a bit under the weather and so is the weather. But it was not too cold to hit the beach.
Ada has been wanting to go to the beach for a few days now. Navi's medicine had just taken effect so he was feeling okay.
On the way home there was a stop at the Palace of Fine Arts for a quick walk, sporting their new sweaters.
Once back home, Navi refused food! He just wanted to lay down. Feel better Navi.

Pick-Up

When Ada was asked if she was ready to go home she did her 'I'm displeased and I'm showing you,' stance. The answer was "I don' wanna go home."

Even after leaving the first gate out of school, there's always the challenge of getting them out through the second gate.  Surely enough they went on their way when they were assured they would be back Wednesday.

Bath Time

Daddy Quique over did it on the bubbles, but the twins did not mind at all.

Fun Outing

The twins headed downtown this morning on the metro to the Ferry Building for a morning pastry.
With a pastry in their backpack and apples in hand from the farmer's market the twins insist they get on the ferry boat.
So off they went on a round trip route to Larkspur.  Here Navi points out the prison with a million dollar view, San Quentin.
It was a great day for a boat ride.  It was sunny and the boat was not crowded.
Coming back the twins stopped at the farmer's market for lunch; gourmet, hand-made, on the spot, pizza margherita, yum.

Mud Mud Mud

Daddy Jason hosted a mud festival for the twins.
He gave them complete freedom and they went wild.  Daddy Quique and guests decided to be no where near the fun and had a bloody mary party inside.
