Farewell Party

On Sunday the Lopezjoneses joined a lot of their school friends in Golden Gate Park to say goodbye to Ada's best friend, Bea and the wonderful Sheahan family. They are moving to North Carolina. There were even a few friends from the pre-school that came to say goodbye.
Many of their classmates were there and it was as if all the kids were having recess at school.
Ada spent a lot of her time walking the dogs that were there. She enjoyed playing with her friends and leading a dog with her.
At one point the kids took over a neighboring party's entertainment.
You will be missed Pete, Brook, Holton and Bea!

Wedding in Salinas

Ada and Navi were in Salinas over the weekend for DaddyQuique's cousin Jessica's wedding. Marky of course was very excited to see them.
Benji was also there for the festivities. Everyone was very happy to be able to play with one and other.
Navi has surpassed Benji in height!
At the wedding Navi complained to his dads about having to wear pants. Well, lucky him he's not any of his cousins who most of wore ties.
Unlike Navi, Ada is more than happy to dress up. She even got input on choosing the dress she wore that day.

It was a beautiful wedding and the reception was outdoors with a view of the Gavilan Mountains and plenty of fresh air.
The best part for the twins was that they were able to run around all evening with a bunch of other kids.

Congratulations Jessica & Ubaldo

Soccer Camp

Ada and Navi are back in soccer camp this week. The best part about this camp is them coming home really tired.
But not too tired to pick tomatoes in the garden.

Dinner Party

The Lopezjoneses were invited to a dinner party Monday night. The twins took a quick shower at home and made it out to the avenues to their classmate Paloma's house. Ada decided to sit at the 'kids' table.
Navi decided to sit with the adults.
After dinner Ada and Navi made their way to the garden to play with the rope swing.
There was a second family at the dinner party. All the kids here attend La Scuola, it is such a great community.

Party Crashers

At the invitation of the twins' friend's mom they crashed a 40th birthday party in the mission. Surprisingly there was a lot of kid entertainment. Including a bubble-man.
Ada had spent the night at Bea's house so the dads were 'technically' picking up Ada. They had a pizza truck, a gelato stand and an open bar!
There was also an animal show, which kept the kids really entertained.
And the adults found it entertaining too! Then this happened! A giant Burmese python.
After the party the Sheahan children accompanied the Lopezjoneses home for a sleep over. They all had pancakes the next morning.

Ending Their Free Week

The twins headed to Oakland one day to hang out with one of their classmates. They first stopped at Lake Merrit to run around a bit.
They went to Montclair Village. Being in this part of Oakland brought many memories to DaddyQuique, this was a frequented place to hang out during his college days.

The kids mainly kept busy with board games, a giant box of Lego's and a game of chess. Afterwards they had lunch and stopped at Fenton's Creamery for some ice cream.
The next morning DaddyQuique made a quick run to the Mission for pan dulce. Ada had had a really good music lesson earlier and the week and this was a reward for both of them.
Later in the morning the twins went to the SF zoo. It was a really nice day for it too.
Lucky for Ada and Navi DaddyQuique had some ride coupons.
They loved it!

Outings

This week the kids enjoyed StreetDays in the Mission. Valencia street was closed down for people to walk, bike, skate and stroll.
The twins finally made it to the movie theater after many weeks of asking. Afterwards they extended their time at the mall to play some chess.
The next day was a beach day. It was not cold nor was it hot.

But that did not stop the twins from playing in the water. And yes the water was cold!
DaddyQuique spotted a whale in the bay. It was so close that the twins were able to spot it easily (whale not pictured).
Check out Navi in pants!

Long Weekend

To start the weekend the twins had the Sheahans over for dinner. Ada and Navi were both excited.
Bea and Holton were spending the night. They had fish tacos for dinner and a yummy flour less chocolate cake.
The next morning Bea and Ada made breakfast, crepes. They did everything themselves including reading the recipe. It took them over an hour! But they made crepes in the end.
Later that day the twins met many of their friends at the Children's Hospital in Oakland visiting one of their classmates who sadly was involved in a tragic plane accident. He is doing well and walking with only a few stitches, but his little sister is in serious condition and has a long recovery ahead of her. His nanny is in stable condition, but his father did not survive.
They were there to offer him support as well as his mother (who is being super woman throughout all this) and little sister. Ada and Navi handled all this news well and are happy to help their classmate wherever they can.
Later that evening the Lopezjoneses shared dinner with another school family to support each other in this tragedy. A few days later the twins attended the funeral and Shiva, their classmate was happy to see them.  The school community has been great in rallying to support the family, the twins are ever so lucky to have found such a great school.

Pet Sitting

The Lopezjoneses are pet sitting a bearded dragon. Her owners are away for a few days.
Ada had a big smile on her face when she first saw Reptar.

This week Ada and Navi are doing a soccer camp in Golden Gate Park.
Every morning the twins leave the sunny Mission and arrive at the foggy Beach Chalet soccer fields. And every day the twins are TIRED!

Huntley Mill

Over the weekend the Lopezjoneses headed up to Huntley Mill.
Ave and Elio were very excited to spend some time with their cugini.
Most of the time the twins were either in the water or on their bikes.
They stayed in the cabin as the camp was not set up yet. Everyone had a wonderful time.

Final Farewell

On Thursday morning the Lopezjoneses and some really good friends of Gian Marco accompanied him to the airport.
Gian Marco was on his way to Italy where he will spend the rest of his summer with family and then fly back to the United State, but not to San Francisco - to Texas instead, where he will finish his final two year of college at the University of Houston Victoria.
It was a sad and proud moment for the daddies. Ada and Navi... who know if they completely understood it all.
Good luck Gian Marco and we will see you soon in Texas, California or Italy!
He did leave a few things behind, which the twins took to as pajamas.
