California State Fair

 ZiaNonna joined the Fernandez & the Lopezjones' for the state fair.  Fair food was had by all, deep fried yummy goodness.

 It was a bit hard to keep these three moving together, but the firetruck worked well to get them back on track.

 Navi and Benji had the opportunity to milk a goat. They also got to see a calf being born, or at least the very first part of the birth where the yolk sack is pushed out of the cow.

 It was quite a challenge to find a suitable fair ride for three.  But after much searching one was found.

 All three had a blast.

 After the fair ZiaNonna treated everyone out for ice cream.

 Ada had strawberry, Navi had pistachio and Benji had chocolate.

 The big eater of course was Navi.

With his new car seat he had to do some improvising to get comfortable enough for him to sleep in the car.

The Academy of Sciences

 The twins took Benji and Alexis to their favorite museum in San Francisco. Navi was to lead everyone around, but Benji could not get enough of the shark and sting ray tank and the albino aligator so it was a free for all.

 They were easily gathered for snack.

Afterwards there was some time to let a little bit more of the energy out.

Sun Sand & Surf

First day at home Navi and Ada took their primos to the playground and then Ocean Beach.

 Alexis thought it was too cold, but everyone else was quite comfortable.

 And the water was not cold!

The Fun Week Starts

 The twins went to Madera to pick up some primos to spend the week with them in San Francisco. The heat was a bit much for everyone so as the sun set and the temperatures got cooler it was a great time to cool down ever faster.

 The fun started on the ride home a stop at a roadside 'food' attraction.

Everyone enjoyed the large table and daddy Quique's milkshake, that came with his all you can eat split pea soup - he had two bowls.

Palace of Fine Arts

 After swim class on Thursday the twins took a little detour at a San Francisco landmark.  They have been wanting to stop here for weeks now and since there is no 'exercise class' anymore there was no rush to get home.

 For once Ada was happy to pose for a picture.

Culinary Delights

 A few night ago the twins went out to dinner at Poesia.  Ada was enjoying her carpaccio (raw beef), but had a very strange way of savoring her food. She seems to eat one half first while the rest hang out of her mouth.

She did the exact same thing while eating sushi a few weeks ago, except it was with baby octopus.  It was a great photo opportunity missed.  She would eat the body first while the tentacles stuck outside her mouth.

Revisiting Old Haunts

It has been a long while since these two have visited the Eureka Valley playground.  But they have a good reason, they are getting big and this playground is really for the younger crowd. 

They still managed to have fun though.

Young Foodies

 The twins took a special trip near downtown to have lunch at the new SoMa StrEat Food Park.

 Daddy Quique was excited that the Del Popolo pizza truck was there and the twins were excited about having pizza from a truck.  Check out the size of this pizza truck, it has two levels, it's own brick pizza oven, and high ceilings. The twins were impressed.

 The pizza was ok, a bit over-rated, but the twins enjoyed it. And if they ate well they were promised a treat.

Really, really good gourmet cream pops - covered in sprinkles of course.

A Brief Day At The Zoo

 In true San Francisco fashion a summer day can be quite cold.  Asked where they wanted to go the twins response was the zoo.

 Navi lead the way and went straight to the children's zoo.  Ada was a bit shy to touch any of the goats, but eventually felt comfortable to pet and brush them.

 Navi had fun playing with a pump in the geese pool.

They did not see many animals this day, but they had fun making their own way around the zoo at their own pace.

The Engagement Party

 Daddy Quique did not really take many pictures of the party, but when all the kids got together it made for a great picture.  The only time this happened was waiting for the cake to be cut.

 Everyone loved the cake and ate a very generous portion.

Better Late Than Never

Back in Squaw, Aunty Jan and Navi prepared the deck for the engagement party to held the next day.

 But before the party there was some free time.  ZiaAlisa found a great creek to hang out for the day.

The creek was running and there were plenty of pools to splash and play in.

 One even held some fish.  Ada, Navi, Wilha (their new friend) found the fish fascinating.

 And of course, nothing could beat the best part of the day, eating.

Last Weekend

 The twins went to Squaw for a family function. But most importantly Elio got to spend a lot of time with his cuginos.

 He was such a great eater, quite possibly mimicking the twins. He loved having snack when they had snack and drinking out of similar cups.  He's getting at the age where he likes to follow them around everywhere - and start pushing their buttons.

There was even a new friend made.

Playtime

 Yesterday the twins invited some friends from preschool to the playground and they were super excited to play.

 Teacher Jackie, from swim class was there as she is one of the friends' babysitter.

For the merenda all the kids got a treat, baked goods from Tartine.  It was a fun time and they can't wait for the next get together.

A Wedding in Madera

 The twins went to Madera over the weekend for a family wedding.  They were mostly excited about spending a few nights at Benji's house.

TiaNana tied the knot and all Ada could think of is the wedding cake.  The newlyweds finally gave in after repeated requests from Ada.

There was also some pool time, temperatures were in the 90's.
