Halloween!

The twins hosted their Grandpa, Nonna and Linda for Halloween.
After dinner they went trick-or-treating. Navi dressed as Leonel Messi and Ada as Wonder Woman.
DaddyQuique made his costume at the last minute, ie. the chef's hat.
As always the neighbors are always happy to see the twins in costume.
This year they only visited 5 houses...
But they still made out with plenty of candy.
Enough for the twins and the dads.

Pumpkin Carving

The twins had a little task to do before Halloween, carve their pumpkins!
This year they did everything themselves.
And did a wonderful job on their own.
They are excited for tomorrow.

Playdate & A Dinner Party

The twins invited their classmate Aidan over for a playdate. They spent a few hours playing with Legos and then went outside to play with sticks.
Later his mom and dad joined the Lopezjoneses for dinner. All three kids enjoyed their mocktails before dinner was served.
PapaJason made a wonderful porcini meatloaf.
After the kids had dessert they went to the living room to watch a little bit of television while the adults conversed (aka drink) at the dinner table.

Soccer Weekend

The twins started their Saturday with their soccer games as usual. Ada won her game 2-0 and Navi's team put up a really good fight, but lost 0-1.
That afternoon the joined a lot of their school mates at Kezar stadium to watch the San Francisco Deltas play soccer.
Ada and Navi were pretty much on their own following their friends and disappearing for long periods of times just like every other kid there. They had such fun.
The next day they joined their classmates once again at the SF Delta's Youth Soccer Clinic near the beach. It was cold!

All Boys Birthday Party

Friday evening Navi attended his classmates birthday party at his home.
Every boy from his class was there. There was a magic show and then the boys basically ran around the house for hours.
Navi had a fun time with all his friends. Happy Birthday Martin!

Festa di Autunno

The twins celebrated Halloween a little early at school, Friday fit better into their schedule for activities. DaddyQuique finished Ada's costume just in time.
Wonder Woman! All done by hand, except for the accessories.
Navi's costume was a lot simpler, the soccer star Lionel Messi. That required purchasing a jersey, everything else he had.
There were a lot of creative costumes at their school.
Every year they have a parade of costumes. Which the kids love, there was no dance contest this year, but the twins and their class and older classmates took a walk to Alamo Square in costume. The younger students stayed behind for Halloween activities and sugar skull making. The school has gotten so big they need to separate the kids.
There was also a talk about Dia De Los Muertos and scary story told inside. Everyone had so much fun.

Dinner Guest & Outdoor Sleep Out

PapaJason picked up the twins form school today. Nonna and Grandpa were coming over for dinner and he and the twins went food shopping. Navi realized they forgot the ice cream. So Papa stopped at BiRite, gave the kids money and told them to go and buy ice cream and he waited in the car. Guess what? They did just that.
Nonna and Grandpa made it over for dinner. They had a lot to show Nonna in their room.
Grandpa was happy to be over for dinner.
Then something special happened. With high temperatures outside (SF is in a mini heat wave) PapaJason and twins will be sleeping outside in the roof deck.
And what a beautiful night it is to do so. Lucky kids. We'll see if they make it to morning.

Lazy Sunday & Tamales

Sunday was one slow day. The dads had gone out the night before to a fundraiser and a very later, but yummy dinner. And the twins stayed up later than usual with their babysitter. So after many hours of lounging in the living room the twins went to the garden for a bit, but preferred to be inside play some games and finish reading book 6 of the Harry Potter series, 3 more chapters to go!
For dinner that night a few tamales were taken out of the freezer and steamed for an hour.
The twins were excited for this dinner. They love tamales, these were made at Abue's house last Christmas, they freeze well.
Tamales twice this week! Lucky them.

Saturday Games

This weekends soccer matches were in the same field but 3 hours apart. So after Navi's game (lost 0-1) the Lopezjoneses went to lunch, Dim Sum.
Afterwards they went to the zoo to hang out and pass the time.
They did get to see a few animals. Then it was back to the soccer fields (Ada's team lost as well).

Urban Hike

On Sunday San Francisco got a break from the smoke coming from the North Bay. The Lopezjoneses took advantage of the good air and took a walk to Twin Peaks.
It really was a nice day and everyone needed the walk and to be outside. At school the twins were kept indoors all week because of the bad air quality. Their soccer practice and games were canceled this week.
Everyone enjoyed the walk very much.
And with the promise of lunch afterwards and a mocktail both Ada and Navi did not complain much during the walk.
And at lunch, lucky for the twins they were seated right in front of a television and with in a few minutes of them sitting down Frozen started on the TV. And they did love their mocktails.
After lunch the twins were heading to the playground to get a little more energy out, but they were side tracked by the street hockey game being place on the black top and decided to watch the game instead.

A Memorial Service

On Saturday, the twins and UncleDoug took BART to the eastbay to join PapaJason for a memorial service for his good friend Susanne's husband, Mitch Chaix who passed away a month ago.
Navi was curious what kind of funeral it would be and was happy to know it was a celebration of life with lots of food, good friends, family and plenty of laughs.
Navi and Ada like playing outside with the rest of the kids.
They were free to run around and play.
