Fun Saturday

The twins attended a double birthday party down town at the Yerba Buena Center.
It was an ice skating party.  The daddies dropped off Ada and Navi and went of shopping downtown.
The daddies did get to see Ada and Navi skate a little before the party was over.  A lot of their friends were there from school as well as many from years past.  Everyone was amazed at Navi's skating skills and the fact that this was his first time on the ice. The kids had a half hour lesson and Navi took the the ice like nothing.
Ada had so much fun with her best friend and good friends from the year before.  They had so much fun.

Here's video of Navi ice skating.  With only a half hour lesson under his belt and an hour of free skate, here he is fearless on the ice.

School Field Trip

Ada and Navi attended the San Francisco Symphony today with their classmates.  DaddyQuique made Navi dress up for the occasion by wearing pants.  Asked how the symphony went Ada's answer was, "We saw music." Navi's answer, "I don't remember, but we ate after the symphony," referring to the snack the school provided. The daddies will have to wait for the bolletino from school to learn how the field trip went.

Fun On The Beaches

The twins walked everywhere and they spent all day out in the sun.
Most of their time was spent in the water.
Abue and Abuelito were amazed at how much fun and enjoyment they have in the water.
Most lunches were on the beach with feet in the sand.
This time around Navi was able to snorkel on his own on Playa Las Gatas, his dads were so happy to be able to watch from the lounge chairs with a beer in hand.
Abue and Abuelito enjoyed themselves tremendously with the twins.  Ada and Navi were happy to share some beach time with their grandparents.

Fun In The Mexican Sun

After a few days in Moroleon the Lopez and Lopezjones' took a 2am bus to Zihuatanejo.
Ada and Navi were excited to stay at, "the place with the big giant slide," where they got to enjoy some long swims and of course the water slide.
The weather was spectacular, hot with a bit of humidity, but not too much that it was unbearable.
Ada, like every year, got a new dress. Her choice of color - blue.
Every morning Ada and Navi got to choose a cereal of their choice for breakfast (none of which they ever get at home - sugary cereals).
Both Ada and Navi remembered a of things about Zihuatanejo from the previous years.  They were quite comfortable walking through town and loved the food.  Navi's favorites were zincronisadas, quesadillas with ham and cheese.

Family Time In Mexico

The twin's weren't the only ones in Moroleon.  Abue and Abuelito were there waiting for Ada and Navi.  Here they are having breakfast/lunch/brunch? (the eating never really stopped or was at a certain hour) in Ma'Maria's rustic kitchen.
Also in Moroleon were Ximena and her family.  Elva, Giselle, Diego, Dalila, Jessica, Melisa, Irma, Anselmo and their other bisabuela Esther were all there visiting this year.
Here's Navi at the town's carnival.  Late December to early January the entire city is in a month long festival mode.
Other outings included climbing this hill to the Iglesia de Tepeyac. This was 2-3 block away from Ma'Maria's house.
It was a fun walk up the stairs.  Inside an 8 year old was receiving her first communion and Ada was enthralled with the girl's dress and tiara (Mexican 1st communion dresses are equivalent in size and style to giant poofy weeding dresses).  PapaJason and Ada stayed insdie for a bit to watch the ceremony.  Navi and DaddyQuique played outside and watched the view.
Moroleon, Guanajuato.
At night the fountains were on and people were out and sometimes there were concerts in the Jardin. Here's Navi looking at the fountain after we had gotten dinner and walked back home.
The Lopezjones did make it to Morelia, Michoacan for an overnight.
They visited family friends of the Jones' Leticia, Blanca and her family.  It was only until the next morning when any pictures were taken and Mario was the only family member in the house that morning before we left.
For the twins their whole time in Moroleon was food, family and playtime. Here the twins are in Esther's house playing hide-and-seek.
Ma'Maria's garden provided and excellent place to play.  And there were plenty of things around to play with and keep them busy.

Mexico

The twins are in Moroleon Guanajuato Mexico. This is where both their Abue and Abuelito are from. The town has been revitalized, el jardin (the garden) is at it's most beautiful DaddyQuique has ever seen it and all the trees have been trimmed in shape of animals.  The surrounding buildings have all been cleaned and the arcades rebuilt. The atmosphere in town is friendly, lively and very safe. What a treat for everyone.
And it is also where their bisabuela (great-grandmother) Ma'Maria, abuelito's mother, lives. She was very happy to see them again.  The first time they saw her was two/three years ago, but were much too small to remember.
The twins have been enjoying themselves.  They have breakfast at home.
 Lunch in town.
And plenty of snacks in between.  Here Ada is sucking the juice from a sugar cane, sweetness right from the source (the cane not the girl).
Here Navi is having a fruit salad, which is a popular street snack in Mexico.

Special Surprise

Last week Nonna surprised the twins by accompanying DaddyQuique to pick them up.  They walked all the way home, but did stop at a playground where Navi got Nonna to play tag with them.
And here is a picture that Navi insisted be taken to show that the palm touching his head.

Fun Weekend

Last weekend the Lopezjones went on a bike ride in Half Moon Bay, after finishing their lunches the twins headed straight to the water. They had so much fun playing in the waves.
The next day Ada and Navi met Noah and his family for a walk to the new bay bridge.
Even Noah's little sister Sam was there.
After a two mile walk they made it to the actual bridge where they walked a few yards to be over the water and then headed back.
Maybe next time Ada and Navi will ride their bikes on the new bridge.

New Year's Party

Everyone had a lot of fun at the Lopezjones' for New Year's Eve.  Many friends came to celebrate, but not many took pictures.  Ada and Navi were very happy to have their friend Andrew and his little brother James at home with them to play. They all started the new year with a hike and an hour at a playground then Sushi Boat.  Happy 2015.

Road Trip - Part Two

Meal selections and entertainment were limited in Weed, but everyone made the best of it and had a lot of fun.  Including having a sarsaparilla a the Mt. Shasta Brewery, both Ada and Navi did not like it.
And for the most part everyone enjoyed going out to eat every night.
One day PapaJason drove everyone out to the middle of nowhere, where it began to snow, to Lav Beds National Monument.
It was an awesome park and Navi and Ada both really enjoyed the first lava tube which was lit up.
Everyone borrowed flash lights from the Park Rangers because...
Only one of these lava tube/caves had lights.
It was DaddyQuique's kind of park, you drive to a parking lot and walk out a few feet and start heading down into the lava tubes.
Was it mentioned that it was snowing most of the time?
Some tubes were quite fun and easy.  Some of the more intermediate tubes proved a bit too much for Navi who at times was a bit afraid.
But overall everyone had a lot of fun.
Then the snow really started coming down at one point, it was a good thing most of the time was being spent underground.
Until PapaJason decided to take a two mile hike on The Big Nasty trail.  All was great in the beginning until a blizzard blew in (the blizzard part may be exaggerated, but it was snowing).
Back in Weed, the whole town was covered in white.  The nights were very cold, but it did not bother anyone when walking to dinner.  The twins loved it!
