Pompeii

The twins' class project at school is a slow work in progress, but it is looking very good.
It's very detailed with miniature pictures of the students in Roman outfits.

Easter Part 3/3

The Easter Egg Hunt.  Kaana helped the adults hide the eggs for the young kids.
In two groups all the kids searched for eggs hidden in the garden.
Isaac was able to follow along and was very excited in finding the eggs.
Then the race began and everyone ran all over.
 It was egg cracking time.
Some of the eggs hidden were plastic filled with treats and others were egg shells filled with confetti.
Eveyone was having so much fun cracking eggs on heads.
But Isaac was the most excited and practically cracked an egg on everyone there.
Some resisted the egg cracking, but got into it eventually. Benji didn't want any eggs on his head, but that did not stop his cousins.
The fun wasn't just for kids.  Kaana searched for some eggs as well.
And the Adults got in on the fun too.
 Happy Easter!
The day ended with PapaJason showing Kaana how to prepare cactus to eat.

Easter Part 2/3

Easter morning the Lopezjones' were having a wonderful time in Abue's backyard.  The day had gotten warm and the sun was shining. The garden was green, but much of the fruit was too young to be eaten, bu there was still plenty to see and explore.  Unless you are trampling in the cilantro and then are yelled at to move (pictured above).
By the afternoon family started arrive...
And then more family.
Even Benji made it and the twins could not be happier.
After some Easter BB-Q the fun was to begin.  Most of the young ones knew what was going to happen, but for the really young ones like Isaac or the new ones like Kaana it was a go with it moment.

To be continued...

Easter Part 1/2

The holiday weekend began on Saturday in Mountain View at NASA's Ames Research Center where The Lopezjones (excluding Kaana who was at dragonboat practice), The Vegas, Abue and AuntyShane launched model rockets.
In two groups they all went out to the runway and prepared their rockets for launch.
Ada and Ximena were in the second group, they couldn't be separated the whole morning.
Navi pressed the button in his group and launched all the rockets at once.
It was a race to the sky.
Everyone had a fun time and kept a rocket souvenir.
AuntyShane and the daddies said goodbye to the twins who headed back to Salinas with Abue and The Vegas.  The daddies went back to San Francisco picked up Kaana after her dragon boat practice and headed to Salinas to prepare for the Easter celebrations the next day.

The Swim Meet

On Friday the twins went to see Kaana compete in her last swim meet of the season.
They were only able to stay for one her her races, but they were happy to see her compete and cheer her on.
Sadly Kaana has about two months left with the Lopezjones' and the daddies have started to prepare the twins, as far as they know Kaana will leave back to Japan to finish her school and because her family misses her - which is probably true.

Funday Sunday

Sunday morning the Lopezjones' headed to Japan Town for the annual Cherry Blossom Festival
There were activities for the little ones. Sand painting.
And fun games with prizes. All Hello Kitty themed.
There was plenty of yummy foods and treats.  The day was sunny and the festival was fun.
Later in the evening it was rocket building time.
AuntyShane was over to help the twins build their own rockets to launch next week.  It building of the rockets was mostly done by the adults, but the twins were happy to be included.

Fun Saturday

The twins went down to the playground on Saturday morning and stumbled upon a low-rider parade.
There were a lot of very neat looking cars, but the best were the shows the car put on when they bounced around or tilted on their sides.
After lunch the twins made their way downtown to hang out with Noah for a little bit.
The Alm family was in town for a little bit.  And as you can see Olivia could stay for only so long, she has a few weeks to ago until Noah's little sister makes her appearance. The twins and Noah had a fun time playing together.

Mexico Highlights - Part Two

More highlights...
Almost perfect pictures.  Even though DaddyQuique's camera was water proof, it was on the fritz. Although in this case the lens just needed a little wiping. It also did not help that Navi was splashing water at the camera.
Chasing waves with Kaana and Aunty Jan. (A few yards out from the shoreline millions of tiny fish hung out and everyone was able to swim with/through them, Ada and & Navi did not like the feeling of thousands of fish crashing in to them and surrounding them.)
The view! There are four beaches in Zihuatanejo and Playa La Madera was the best for this trip.  The waves are small and the twins could walk out far in the water.  There were also several very delicious, and cheap, restaurants right on the beach.
Being carried into town. This did not last long, but Curtis was more than happy to do what he can to make his cousins happy.
Boat rides. To get to Playa Las Gatas you need to take a boat ride.  The dive shop that the adults use for diving provided the ride.  The adults took the best worst dive ever. Visibility was terrible, stinging jelly fish at the surface and the water was cold but they still managed to see turtles, sea horses, eels, schools of fish, a ray, urchins and plenty of fish.  Only one dive was done.
Snorkeling.Again conditions were not right in the waters, but Navi was still able to snorkel.  Ada made an attempt at it, but she chose to just play in the water.
Dinner in town.  Most dinner were at restaurants.  With really fresh seafood abundantly available, and cheap, every ate very well.
A new dress. She has grown out of her dresses from last year and remembering the shop from the last time Ada got a new dress.
And the beautiful water at Playa Las Gatas. With a barrier to block the waves the waters here are very calm and clear.  The whole beach is lined with restaurants and lunch was had seated 10 feet from the water.
