Ski Weekend

For their week of school the kids headed up to Squaw to ski with their Nonna.

Their Nonna took them skiing almost every day. One day they were even out in a snow storm.

They both love to ski and enjoyed every minute of it.

Family dinners were great each night, PapaJason cooked delicious dinners.

After skiing each day they twins would walk up to the house, but stop and play in the snow.

It was not all fun and skiing thought. The twins did have to do some reading and journal writing every day.

9 Year Check Up

The twins had their 9 year check up with their pediatrician.

All is good, both are growing well and are at the 80% for their age. Next year, vaccines.

Fun Weekend

The Lopezjoneses weekend started with a very sloooow Saturday. But on Sunday morning Ada took it upon herself to make her own breakfast, from scratch.

She found a recipe for biscuits and went to work. She made them her own by adding honey and sprinkling them with cinnamon.

Then the twins moved on to Golden Gate Park for try roller blading, a late Christmas gift from their Nonna. DaddyQuique put on his skates and taught them the basics. Navi got it right from the start and accompanied PapaJason on his run. Ada stayed behind to practice a bit more. They both did great!

Afterwards Nonna and Grandpa joined the Lopezjoneses for lunch. Which is now becoming a little bit of a tradition.

Carnavale

Every year La Scuola celebrate Carnavale Italian style.

The students dress up in characters from their favorite books and have school parade. Ada dressed as MacKensie Hollister a character of the Dork Diaries series. Navi represented Dribble the turtle from Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing.

It's always a treat seeing what creative costumes of the the students come up with.

Along with a freeze dance contest.

Ada and Navi are very lucky to have such a great school and an awesome class.

Birthday Weekend - Boardwalk

Saturday morning the twins awoke to a view of the Boardwalk and its roller coasters.

Unfortunately it being off season the rides did not open until noon. So in the mean time they passed the time in the pool waiting for a friend.

George finally made it that morning and with plenty of time to play in the pool.

Finally the time came and with wristbands in hand these three were ready!

Their first ride was the Gian Dipper, but the bumper cards proved to be all three of their favorite ride. They must have gone on it 5 times that day.

Not all rides were open, but there were enough 'thrill' rides to make the trip worth it.

The kids even got to try some of the games.

Later in the evening everyone went out for pizza. Service was a little busy, but the kids did not mind they had video games and were able to run about the restaurant. And the adults did not mind, they had a full pitcher of beer. In the end they got a free dessert, a cinnamon pizza pie (think cinnamon roll in shape of a pizza).

Santa Cruz - Birthday Dinner

The Lopezjoneses headed to Santa Cruz over the weekend to celebrate Ada and Navi's birthday.

Right after school they arrived at Santa Cruz and went out for the twins' birthday dinner.

Walking distance from the hotel was a very cute restaurant in the downtown area.

Navi asked if he can start his meal with oysters, "Of course it's your birhday!" said the dads.

Both kids had some really delicious pastas for dinner.

Across the street was an ice cream parlor, which the twins had they eye on peeking out the window, during dinner.

Unfortunately they watched the line for the ice cream parlor get longer as they finished their meal. So instead dessert was had the the restaurant. A special treat for them, their dads allowed them to get affogato (with decaf).

 

The walk home was a lot of fun, the downtown area was alive with people. Ada and Navi were able to run about. They couldn't wait to wake up the next morning and wait for their friend to join them.

Happy 9th Birthday!

This morning the twins awoke with excitement and found their birthday breakfast out of reach, of sorts.

They each chose a side and broke through.

They were excited because it was their birthday, but also because of their traditional birthday breakfast.

PAN DULCE!

And gifts of course.

Ada received a metal watch, just like her dads. It even tells her the day of the week. Navi received a digital watch, with a special night light.
