Salinas Overnight

In between the twins' soccer game the Lopezjoneses went out for a late lunch - Dim Sum! The fried tofu and chicken feet were a hit!
After their game, Draghi Blu 4-1 (Navi scored 3 goals) and Regazze Veloce 3-1, Ada's coach found out that she can do more than just be a defender and was really good at being up front with the ball. After the games they headed to Salinas, Marky turned 5!
Abue saved some of the fruit in the garden, unfortunately the apples sat on the tree much too long and lost a bit of their yummyness, but were still good. Here's Navi picking pears.
The next day the twin's attended Marky's scoccer game.
20 children running on the field at the same time was fun to watch for the first 10 minutes. But Marky did a fantastic job playing.
Marky celebrated with his teammates with cupcakes and on such a hot day PapaJason, Ada and Navi enjoyed some well needed raspados (Mexican shaved ice).

Happy Birthday Marky!

Flu Shots

It's that time of season and the twins got their flu shots. Ada was excited to get hers.
Navi was a little nervous as usual, but he did well. They both got rewarded with treats.

Family Dinner

The Lopezjoneses attended a music session and tuning class at La Scuola. And afterwards the family went out for BB-Q in the Lower Haight, not far from school.
Everyone had a great time. A rack of ribs, chicken wings, rib tips and plenty of sides. What a fun dinner!

Weekend Fun - For All!

On Saturday only Ada had a calcio game later in the afternoon. Navi, for the first time, stayed home alone by himself (for longer than a grocery run). He was very excited.
The girls won their game 3-1. And a special something from Vivienne, baklava flown in from Jordan that morning. Ada tried it and said it was too sweet (the honey perhaps). DaddyQuique loved it, and he's not a fan of baklava, but now he knows of Jordanian baklava. Oh and Navi did not burn the house down when the family returned home, he said he watched TV the whole time.
The next day was a special treat for the daddies and the twins. Ada and Navi were dropped off at a birthday party midday. The dads went to the Folsom Street Fair and did not have to pick them up until after dinner. Navi and Ada were super happy to go home with their friend Isabella after the party. When asked why they both answered, "She has minecraft!"

Homework!

The twins came home with their first packet of homework. Ada is trying to get most of it done at once.
Navi opted for his minimum of 30min because he was too excited to read a book a checked out from the public library the day before.
There was also something special in the mail for the twins. A package via Texas from Gian Marco, movies in Italian - Grazie!

Random Pictures

With school back in session and routines back to normal, things have been pretty mellow for the twins. But here's a few random pictures of their week.
Ada and Navi playing on the iPhone with picture filters.
Navi's soccer game, a tie, but only because the referrer had many many unfair calls against Draghi Blu.
It was one of Navi's soccer mate's birthday. The team, including Ada, celebrated with doughnuts.
This is the set-up of the kids' lunch room at school. They eat family style, a very big social part of the Reggio Emilia approach to schooling.
The twins were able to use the master bath for the first time. This 'together' bath ended in tears so it's back to taking turns.
After the soccer game, in recognition of Mexican Independence Day, the Lopezjoneses went out for tacos. Ada enjoyed her chorizo tacos and half of her Fanta drink.
Here's Ada on the J-Church line on her way to school in her new favorite sweater she picked up at a neighbors garage sale.

Calcio/Soccer

On Saturday the twins' started their soccer season. First up was Ada. She and her team played a really fantastic game and won 3-2. The parents were really impressed at the hustle the girls put in.
After Ada's game and a quick ride across the city, Navi started his first game. With Gian Marco in Texas Navi's new coach is someone familiar. Tanaka, one of Gian's good friends.
And the boys started off their season with a win of 3-0.
Now the Lopezjoneses weekends revolve around the soccer schedule, go soccer dads!

New Instruments

Ada and Navi are in their second week of school. Yesterday they came home with school instruments. Ada will now be learning how to play the Ukulele.
And Navi will be learning the guitar. The dads are really excited for them to learn these new instruments in hopes that they will be able to play many different kinds and develop a love for music.

Labor Day Camping

Once again the twins headed up to Huntley Mill, for the third weekend in a row, for their annual labor day camping weekend. The usual crowd was there as well as some new young faces.
The twins stayed up later than usual enjoying one of ZioLuca's camp fires.
Or hanging on to AuntieHeather (or UncleHeather as they call her).
This year ZiaAlisa took the twins and their cousins on a 4 hour hike and swimming in 7 lakes in one day! What a treat.
