Great Swimming
The twins had a great swim class today. Their teacher said they did very well, attempted new skills, and listened and followed instructions. For a reward they got to watch a movie at home, their first non-animated movie, Peter Pan (directed by P.J. Hogan, 2003). Daddy Quique did not think they would be able to keep their attention on the entire movie, but they did. Ada had a lot of questions and comments, "Where's his hand, why are they fighting, I don't like those mermaids, where's their momma, is the crocodile bad, I like fairies, why did the fairy fall down (and not breathing), is Tinkerbell bad, what is that (referring to the swords), it's only a little scary, what's his name, who is she - she's a princess (referring to Tiger Lily), why are they hanging upside down, I like flowers, why do they want to go home." Navi just took the movie all in.
Good Walkers
The twins went to the zoo earlier in the week and for the first time walked the entire grounds, with out any complaints. On this trip to the zoo Ada was eager to see the hippo and Navi wanted to walk through the tunnels in the savannah exhibit. "Does it bite? Is it bad?" Ada would ask about the big cats and other animals. Yes it bites and it's not necessarily 'bad' but it's not a cat you want to play with was the type of answer daddy Quique was trying to get across. Did she get it? Who knows. At this age things are either good or bad.

Lopez Camping Weekend
The twins finally made it back out to Huntley Mill, this time with some family.
All the kids were left on their own to keep themselves entertained, it was perfect for all the moms and dads. It gets easier camping as they get older. It was a fun weekend and the twins can't wait to go back for Labor Day.

He Can Float
Navi finally achieved a swimming skill he's been working on for a while. The backfloat, he was very proud of himself.
Something that has become routine is stopping at the Palace of Fine Arts for a walk around the pond. The baby swans have grown into full adults.

Special After School Treat
The hippest coffee house in SF was celebrating their 4th anniversary with free coffee, baked goods, ice cream and a petting zoo.
Right after pick-up form school the twins went straight to the Mission's Four Barrel Coffee. Their Parklet was turned into a petting zoo. Ada and Navi got there just in time before the animals had to leave.
Daddy Quique was really surprised at all the species of animals they had which included a pot-belly pig, geese, chickens, a sheep, rabbits, goats, a tortoise and an alpaca. The line for the baked goods was long so the twins joined their friend Druvy and her family at a frozen yogurt shop some blocks away. It was a first for Navi and Ada and they liked it because they got to choose their flavor and toppings. Strawberry, 'pink' as she called it, yogurt with rainbow sprinkles with two sour gummy worms for Ada. Vanilla and pistachio yogurt for Navi with M&M minis and two sour gummy worms.
After the double treat they got a third in gymnastics. Starting their new Tot Class (the next level from Tiny Tots) the twins and their new classmates had the entire floor to themselves. And with just 7 kids showing up there was a lot of personal attention and more time to do the activities. Ada did really well considering she had a male teacher.

Slow Day Turns Out Interesting
Navi seemed like he was feeling under the weather this morning and the weather was very down so getting out this morning was very slow. They had been promised a trip downtown, so to keep the promise the twins went to the Cable Car Museum in Chinatown.
It was very loud and lots of gears and wheels spinning everywhere pulling the cables throughout San Francisco that make the Cable Cars (the only moving National Historic Landmark) run.
Across the street there was a new playground with a really neat climbing structure.
After letting out a bit of energy the twins wanted, "Weeeh, weeeeh!" so down Lombard Street (the second crookedest street in SF) they went yelling, "Weeeh, weeeh!" Then it was a stop at Coit Tower. Navi loved the mural of a cowboy inside the tower that was four times his size. The day turned out great.

Day With Papa
Due to conflicting parties over the weekend, the twins had a day with papa Jason. He took them hiking in Bernal Heights. The hiking started as a hike and turned into rock climbing.
At the top of the hill they were rewarded with a great view.

First Day Of School
School is back in session. Navi was very excited to explore his new classroom and play with all the new toys.
Ada did her 'shy routine' but word from the teacher is that she got over it quickly. Both kids had a great day.

The San Francisco Parklet
San Francisco has been turning parking spaces into parklets in popular neighborhoods. This one in Noe Valley happened to have an art space for kids. So the twins let their artistic side take over.
Here was the end result, yet a work in progress to the bitter end.

He Knows What He Likes
The other day for lunch the twins had half a sandwich and soup (with a small piece of toast). Navi loves to deconstruct his food. He eat everything, but in his own way. This time he took his toast and put it in between his sandwich bread and claimed the big sandwich was yummy. Nothing like a high carb sandwich.

"One More Baby. Pleeeaase!"
The other night Ada fell out of bed during her slumber, poor thing. But Why? Because she is determined to sleep with all the 'babies' in the house. So, she is being taught to position her 'babies' around her instead of taking up the whole bed next to her.

Back In Town
The twins are back home and with a week left of summer break. Ada's excited to go back to school, "With my teacher," she says. Here's a picture of them at the zoo with the biggest artichoke plant their daddy has ever seen.

Last Week
Ada, Navi and Benji met up with Noah in the Santa Cruz Mountains for a fun filled Thomas The Train Ride through the woods. There were plenty of activities to keep little ones busy.
And finally the train ride! A twenty minute ride through the mountains lead/followed by Thomas the tank engine.
For lunch, everyone headed over to a park for a picnic.
