Kuala Lampur, Malaysia

Our guided tour of Malaysia came to an end at the Sandakan airport. We waited for a flight to Kuala Lampur, but got to relax in the massage chairs. Sadly during our lunch we received some bad news from home. PapaJason had to fly back home the next day.

But the entire family had a full 24 hours together in Kuala Lampur.

The whole family went to see the National Mosque, Ada was required to wear a hijab. The dads a robe, only because they were wearing shorts. Navi was the only one with no dress requirements.

Next they walked to the Taman Burung, the bird park. There were lost of birds everywhere just flying and walking about.

 It was warm, but lucky for the twins there was ice cream.

After saying goodbye to PapaJason the twins headed straight to the hotel pool. A lot of time was spent here.

 The next day Ada, Navi and DaddyQuique took the train to the Batu Caves.

It was a really fun outing.

On the return it was back to the pool.

The next day DaddyQuique took the twins to an indoor activity/sport center in the mall across the street from another mall next to their hotel.

They spent the entire day in there.

They had tons of fun.

After lunch they stopped at a candy store. Their year long candy diet was over!

 For their last night in Kuala Lampur they enjoyed Banana Leaf. Indian food served on a banana leaf with no utensils. DaddyQuique really enjoyed the food, they twins enjoyed it as well, but best of all was the experience of the dinner.

The next morning there was a little more bad news. Due to a super twin typhoon over the China Sea their way home, through Taipei, was delayed by 10 hours. So back to the mall they went to watch a movie and pass the time.

That night they took a 11am flight to Taiwan, landed there at 3am. DaddyQuique found a very quite hidden spot in the aiport to catch up on sleep, they next flight was 7 hours away!

Best luck ever, on their flight home they got the three middle bulkhead seats, plenty of stretching room! Their flight home was super comfortable and easy. Except for Navi's air sickness at landing, and in the taxi on the way home.

Mataking Island, Celebes Sea Malaysia

Leaving the rainforest the Lopezjoneses hopped on a boat in search of an island retreat.

What they got was a beach resort on a private island in the middle of the Celebes Sea. On really clear days you can see the most southern islands of the Philippines.

What brought them there was the beach. And it delivered, clear water, white sand, and some of the best snorkeling around on their own private beach.

This is where they would spend the next four days. Beach, beach, beach.

The evening were so nice, for their dinner the staff had placed their table outside right next to the water. The food was buffet style, it was not the best they've had, but the island was much too beautiful to mind.

During low tide there was a second island that connected and one was able to walk tot it.

But again, it was the beach and the water which was the shining star on this part of the trip.

Outside their room there was a random dog that came to visit and say hello.

One evening there was a baby turtle release party.

It was something really special to experience and see.

Back on the beach, you did not have to swim far to see the sea life. This picture was taken with DaddyQuique's iPhone.

There was a lot to see and the twins also enjoyed snorkeling.

The dads did a few dives, where they saw many turtles. Which they also saw in the mornings as they fed right outside their beach chalet.

One night after dinner the twins went to their room alone. They did not make it inside, a few cats showed up.

There were other creatures on the island. Water monitor lizards, which somehow Ada always found herself cornered by them.

Other activities they did in the rainforest included a canopy walking tour.

Which when you looked down you would realize how high you really were.

One activity the kids and PapaJason were anxious for was tubing on the river.

But they did have to carry their inner-tube down the forest to the river.

It was a calm and relaxing event. There were not many deep parts to the river.

But there were a few little rapids.

Everyone enjoyed it immensely.

There was plenty more hiking, including their 'big' hike to the look out point. There was lots to see on the way there.

Including an ancient burial site with human remains.

There was a great view of the forest, river and the lodge.

All along the hike there were many interesting vines.

They made for excellent pictures.

They also visited two waterfalls.

 One was special because you were able to take your shoes off and get a fish pedicure.

The fish would come to your feet and eat the dead skin.

There were plenty of animals that they saw. Many were hard to take pictures of, but DaddyQuique managed to take a few.
