Salinas Overnight

The twins headed to Salinas one day for an overnight to see their grandparents and pick a few blackberries. There was some fruit to pick, Ada enjoyed a peach.
Navi had a plum and enjoyed hiding in the tomatillos, which sadly got diseased.
But were still good so Abue put the twins to work to harvest and peel them.
They also helped Abuelito with a little bit of tree trimming.

Keeping Busy

One morning the twins were up early and made it to the Children's Playground in Golden Gate Park.  They had the whole place to themselves. It was a good thing they were early because the temperature that day got up pretty high.
A project they worked this week involved taking pictures at the SF Botanical Gardens.  With a camera in hand they each had 15 minutes to walk around and take photos of anything they found interesting.
They stumbled upon a little friend who looked out place.
A crayfish! DaddyQuique helped get him into one of the ponds.
After lunch, at home, they each chose two pictures and printed them out and then painted a representation of it with water colors.  Navi did the first two from the top, the next two are Ada's and the last one DaddyQuique did. They really enjoyed it and are displaying their art in the dining room.
On another day, the twins traveled downtown and played in a playground for a bit until the bowling alley opened up.
They had a fun time bowling. It was a bit of an embarrassing game for DaddyQuique because he lost the game to Ada by 2 points!
Here is another art project they did.  During their last year in pre-school the twins came home with plenty of projects.  One of them was small scales of the Roman coliseum. They were all white and after an afternoon of painting they are full of color and displayed amongst the plants in the patio.

Weekend Hike

Over the weekend the Lopezjones' hike in the peninsula. There they saw one of the oldest trees in the bay area.
And a strange, but fascinating sandstone formation. Ada and Navi learned the mountain they were hiking on was at one point under water.

Number 5

A day after Ada lost her first tooth the Tooth Fairy visited once more!
There was also another special visitor, UncleTodd stopped by for an overnight to hang out with the twins.  Ada made him breakfast, an omelet.

Summer Fun

Ada and Navi's summer has been passing along quite fast.  They had days where they hang out at home and they keep themselves entertained playing games.
Other times they go on hikes.
They even attended an art gallery opening in Oakland.
Hosted a dinner for Kendra and Eric.
Another day they took Gian Marco to walk the Golden Gate Bridge.
 And Dim Sum afterwards.
They also went to a playground they have never been to before.  They were there to watch Gian Marco play a soccer match.  It's been a great summer so far.

Keeping Busy

Ada and Navi got off to a great start with their summer by going to Europe and then camping at Huntley Mill. They have also been to the movie theater.
Sampled a day of soccer-camp, which they will attend all next week.
 Took UncleDoug to the zoo.
Stopped by in Sacramento to visit family and check out UncleTod's restaurant on the river.
They spent some time in Squaw.  Navi is in the back left and Ave on the right.  It was Ave's first time on this jumping device.
And all this week, they have been attending Zoo Camp at the SF Zoo. Navi was excited that this year his t-shirt was not pink.  They are in the Rhino group.

Munich

In the neighboring town of Krün, 1 minute away from Wallgau where the last G7 summit was held and President Obama was given grief over a morning beer, the daddies saw an awesome playground and decided to take the twins one afternoon.  With landjäger (really good German beef sticks) and beer in tow everyone had a great afternoon.
There a day that Ada did not feel well.  PapaJason, Navi and Magnus went on a hike while Ada recovered, but she was feeling better so she and DaddyQuique took a walk around the town and found a really beautiful park.
 And after the park drinks!
After four days in the countryside it was time to move on.
Munich was their next stop. Magnus had been to Munich a few times, but did not know it very well so it was all new to everyone.
There was a lot of walking and sightseeing.  The town center was very busy and touristy.

The city has many playgrounds and parks. Which the twins took advantage of.
The best one was the Englischer Garten, where the twins got to see what urban surfing looks like.
At the famous Hofbräuhaus the Lopezjones' hosted a few special guests.  Malte and Phillip came in for the day to say hello and spend a little time with the Lopezjones' and Magnus.  Ada and Navi remembered them and were very happy to see them.
Ada enjoyed the pretzels at the Biergartens, they had fun in them because there was usually a play structure for the little ones.
Everyone enjoyed Germany very much and had a fantastic time. These two can't wait to come back.
Best of all everyone loved seeing and spending time with Magnus. "Prost, until the next time!"

Bavaria

On their way to their next destination the Lopezjones' stopped in Oberammergau for a drink and a snack.
They continued to their home base in the village of Wallgau, 15 minutes from the Austrian border. The area was BEAUTIFUL! A ski area in the winter and a hiker, biker, and outdoor enthusiasts paradise in the summer. The Lopezjones' took a hike one day, this place was made and built for hiking.
At the middle of their hike they stopped for lunch. It was a beautifully well maintained trail with markers and times to destinations. It was an easy hike for everyone.
The view was beautiful.  Below is the town of Mittenwald and the mountains behind is Austria.
The next day the twins went to Mittenwald to see the fairy tail paintings on the side of houses and to eat gelato.
Wallgau was a quaint town, one could walk every where.  Walking to dinner had splendid views.
At most dinners the twins were able to hang out in the restaurants yards and play while the daddies enjoyed their meal and drinks.
On another day the Lopezjones' headed out to see castles.
Neuschwanstein castle was beautiful. The twins took a quick 30 min tour of the castle.
And a fun hike near the castle.
After sightseeing they went to a playground.
They also partook in the local summer treat, the sommerrodelbahn, a bobsled on a metal track going down hill.
The twins loved it. And PapaJason too.
The Lopezjones' ended their day of sightseeing in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
Where they waited for Magnus who commuted to town to join them in the fun.
Magnus kept the twins well entertained.
