Special Treat
A few days before Halloween the twins received some special mail from their ZiaNonna. Greeting cards wishing them a great Halloween and $3 cash! Papa Jason explained that you use money to make purchases of goods. So the twins will be free to spend their monies (instead of putting it in their piggy bank) as they wish, perhaps at a 99 cents store. Grazie ZiaNonna.

Happy Hallow's Eve
This year the twins had a little more 'input' on their costumes. There was no talking them out of what they chose and luckily daddy Quique felt creative and was able to make their costumes yet again.

Thank you to Linda for trick-or-treating with Ada and thanks to Nonna for staying home with Navi, allowing both daddies to accompany Ada, and hand out candy (5 knocks at the door this year, a record!)
They were very excited, mostly Ada, to be wearing their costumes to school for some Halloween celebrations.
Sadly Navi has been feeling ill all week, passed up lunch at school and dinner at home that evening. He fell asleep before we all went out trick-or-treating.
After dinner, out Ada went trick-or-treating.
The neighbors that were handing out candy were very happy to see Ada. the neighborhood does not get a lot of trick-or-treaters and many houses are left with all, the little bit, of candy they bought.
Four houses was perfect, it began to rain a little bit on the last house, and that was sufficient enough candy for one princess and a sick little boy.

Pumpkin Carving
"I like to get my hands yucky," is what Ada said when she was asked to empty out her pumpkin. She really enjoyed having sticky hands and scooping out the glops of pumpkin innards.
Navi wanted no part in prepping his pumpkin, he did not want to get his hands dirty. Ada was more than happy to help out and emptied out her brother's pumpkin.
Daddy Quique helped with the carving and made each jack-o-lantern to the twin's request - with a little interpretation. Navi wanted Spiderman, so he got a web and a spider. Ada wanted a princess and after a suggestion and an 'ok' of Hello Kitty she got a cat.

New Shoes
Finally, Navi gives up on the same shoe color and goes with something a little different. He knows what he likes, that's for sure.

Yumm!
The twins enjoyed their dinner this evening, even asked for seconds.
They both, especially Ada, enjoy to pick meat off bones. Well this evening it was pig's feet and they were both in hog heaven, no pun intended.

Playing With Penguins
At the Academy of Sciences today a penguin was feeling very playful and had a great interaction with Ada.
It took her a minute to realize the penguin was following her.

Once she did it was all games. It's a good thing daddy Quique insists she wears bike shorts under all her skirt and dresses.
Meanwhile, leaving the museum, there was a break in the rain so the twins walked, ran, skipped, and jumped all over the Music Concourse. They let out some good rainy day energy.

Fun Weekend
Over the weekend the twins went to their classmate's Aidan birthday party downtown at the Children's Creativity Museum. First off, make your own treasure box.
The twins had so much fun at this birthday party. They were happy to see al of their classmates outside of school.
Waiting at home was an eager Andrew, who cam up form Monterey with his family, full of energy and ready to play with the twins.
Second, go on a treasure hunt throughout the museum.
Third, make a 'Happy Birthday' music video.
Lastly, have cake and take a ride on the carousel. The twins had so much fun at this birthday party. They were happy to see al of their classmates outside of school.

Heat Wave
Temperatures have gone up the past couple of days. Luckily the roof deck gets good shade in the afternoon and the twins were able to play happily after their nap. The fun laster a good 40 minutes before destruction mode set in.

An Elio Weekend
Last week Elio's little sister was born, but had to hang out in the hospital a bit longer. So the twins came up to keep Elio company while his mom and dad spent some time at the hospital. First off, cracking walnuts at Huntley Mill.
Then it was off to Squaw Valley.
Then it was off to Squaw Valley.
It was four days of non-stop play. And Elio was able to keep up and follow Ada and Navi around.
On the way home the twins stopped in Sacramento to have lunch with ZiaNonna, ZioTodd and ZiaTosha.

The 1.5 Hour dinner
Papa Jason surprised the family last night and took everyone out to dinner. It was such a fun walk down to the Mission. There was a light rain the whole way.
This was an early dinner, The Monk's Kettle is one of the many newest restaurants in the Mission and word is getting out about it, so once they opened the Lopezjones' went in for dinner before the crowd. For dinner, Navi chose the house made sausage to start and Ada had a, really good, salad.
For the entree the twins shared a chestnut pasta, but Ada really loved daddy Quique's quail, so he of course had to give up both his quail legs. For a long dinner the twins did very well. The secret, "There's dessert afterwards. Do you want dessert? THEN BEHAVE!" The desserts were amazing.

Was papa Jason's generosity to take his family out genuine? Or could he not get out of his head the 130+ selections of beers you've never heard of and his new love for sour beers which he discovered here (the sister restaurant has 250+ beer selections). Who cares the daddies got to have their new favorite beers; the Tartare by Bear Republic and the Tart Lychee by New Belgium Brewing. The twins loved walking home because it was dark outside and the streets were alive with lights, sounds, people, and smells (not all good).

Swimming, Haircuts and Ice Cream, Oh My
After swim class, and realizing Ada's bangs covered her goggles, the twins got their long overdue haircuts today. And since they were well behaved they received ice cream. Navi chose Grasshopper flavor and Ada chose Halo-Halo which is buko, langka, ube, pineapple, mongo beans and sugar palm - it was purplelish! Daddy Quique wanted to get Jackfruit ice cream, but when he saw Navi's grasshopper with all the chocolate, cookies and good stuff he could not resist.

Thank you to AuntyJan, ZiaNonna and Nonna for hanging out with the twins a few days. The daddies had a great time away in Guadalajara, Mexico.
Cheers!

Heat Wave
There's a heat wave in the city and it's Sharktober & member appreciation month at the Academy of Sciences. Navi and Ada got to see the live shark feeding.
There was a lot of splashing and excitement. After the museum there was talk of the zoo, but Ada was not feeling too good and it was waaay too hot outside. So the twins went home and relaxed in the garden.
