Munich

In the neighboring town of Krün, 1 minute away from Wallgau where the last G7 summit was held and President Obama was given grief over a morning beer, the daddies saw an awesome playground and decided to take the twins one afternoon.  With landjäger (really good German beef sticks) and beer in tow everyone had a great afternoon.
There a day that Ada did not feel well.  PapaJason, Navi and Magnus went on a hike while Ada recovered, but she was feeling better so she and DaddyQuique took a walk around the town and found a really beautiful park.
 And after the park drinks!
After four days in the countryside it was time to move on.
Munich was their next stop. Magnus had been to Munich a few times, but did not know it very well so it was all new to everyone.
There was a lot of walking and sightseeing.  The town center was very busy and touristy.

The city has many playgrounds and parks. Which the twins took advantage of.
The best one was the Englischer Garten, where the twins got to see what urban surfing looks like.
At the famous Hofbräuhaus the Lopezjones' hosted a few special guests.  Malte and Phillip came in for the day to say hello and spend a little time with the Lopezjones' and Magnus.  Ada and Navi remembered them and were very happy to see them.
Ada enjoyed the pretzels at the Biergartens, they had fun in them because there was usually a play structure for the little ones.
Everyone enjoyed Germany very much and had a fantastic time. These two can't wait to come back.
Best of all everyone loved seeing and spending time with Magnus. "Prost, until the next time!"

Bavaria

On their way to their next destination the Lopezjones' stopped in Oberammergau for a drink and a snack.
They continued to their home base in the village of Wallgau, 15 minutes from the Austrian border. The area was BEAUTIFUL! A ski area in the winter and a hiker, biker, and outdoor enthusiasts paradise in the summer. The Lopezjones' took a hike one day, this place was made and built for hiking.
At the middle of their hike they stopped for lunch. It was a beautifully well maintained trail with markers and times to destinations. It was an easy hike for everyone.
The view was beautiful.  Below is the town of Mittenwald and the mountains behind is Austria.
The next day the twins went to Mittenwald to see the fairy tail paintings on the side of houses and to eat gelato.
Wallgau was a quaint town, one could walk every where.  Walking to dinner had splendid views.
At most dinners the twins were able to hang out in the restaurants yards and play while the daddies enjoyed their meal and drinks.
On another day the Lopezjones' headed out to see castles.
Neuschwanstein castle was beautiful. The twins took a quick 30 min tour of the castle.
And a fun hike near the castle.
After sightseeing they went to a playground.
They also partook in the local summer treat, the sommerrodelbahn, a bobsled on a metal track going down hill.
The twins loved it. And PapaJason too.
The Lopezjones' ended their day of sightseeing in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
Where they waited for Magnus who commuted to town to join them in the fun.
Magnus kept the twins well entertained.

Happy 4th Of July

For Independence day the Lopezjones' made it up to Huntley Mill to celebrate with family and friends.
This was Gian Marco's first time camping.  Navi, Ada and Elio showed him the ropes.
Gian even got back to his roots by helping ZiaAlisa make polenta, on a Mexican cazo

HAPPY 4th Of JULY!

More Of Augsburg

Ada and Navi had a chance to explore Augburg.
At the Rathaus (City Hall), the got to see Augsburg's Golden Room, where special events and ceremonies are held.
Magnus did play tour guide, but eventually had to go to class.
The twins learned that Augsburg has a few canals and is knows a the Venice of Bavaria.
 They also found a playground.
Back at Magnus' apartment he had a special treat waiting for the twins. A kids (alcohol-free) malt soft drink.
They were excited to try it and drink it, only in Germany!
Ada and Navi both enjoyed their time with Magnus...
But it was time to move on into the Bavarian countryside.  They said goodbye to Magnus, but would see him again in a couple days.

Augsburg, Germany

After France the Lopezjones' took a flight to Germany.  After a speedy 45 min drive on the Autobahn they made it to Augsburg.  There they met-up with Magnus, where he is living and studying at the university.
So Magnus, knowing his 'host' dads well took them to the local brewery...
 ...for a beer.
There was a slide for children.  Bavaria (Southern Germany) is very family friendly.
The next day Magnus joined the Lopezjones' to start the morning. To the dads, those 6 years since they last saw him were more like 6 days. Ada and Navi took a liking to Magnus right away.
The twins enjoyed their breakfast outdoors. Thanks to Magnus no one had any difficulty deciphering the menu or ordering.
Except, Navi did not enjoy the beautiful currants in his yogurt.

La Campagne Française

The area of France the twins visited was very pretty.  The whole are seemed to be well manicured and growing all sorts of food. It is know by many names, but the to the eldest locals it's know as the Perigord.
The local sites were family friendly. In fact the whole are was family friendly, kids menus included delicious foods such as duck burgers, duck confit, great cheeses, salads with duck gizzards and of course always ice cream at the end.
Ada and Navi went spelunking at the Gouffre de Proumeyssac, it was spectacular.  The whole thing started with a light and music show and then you walk through the cave to see the many formations up close and personal.
There were many castles in the region.  Some well maintained and restored and others falling apart adding to their charm.  Ada and Navi visted two castles in the area.  Chateau de Beynac started with wonderful walk through a hillside town. The views were spectacular from the top.
Many a times the day would start with a walk in a small town/village. All with cobbled streets.
Other times, it would be a drive to a site and a stop in a town for lunch.
They also visited a beautiful manicured garden. A true French garden high up in a hill, Les Jardins Suspendus de Marqueyssac.
There were a few medieval towns they visited.  Here they are in Sarlat, which was the biggest town in the area.
Again, playgrounds were found everywhere ranging in size from small to big.
The village the twins were staying in had a castle. Chateau de Castelnaud had a museum of weapons. Navi was amazed with all the swords, spears, bow & arrows on display.
Here's a giant cross bow the twins go to touch and discuss how and why it was used. Navi had wonderful ideas on the subject.
As pretty as the sites were the twins also enjoyed their time at home, there was a great yard for the to run around in after they were done swimming in the pool.
