Weekend Bike Ride

The Lopezjoneses headed south of San Francisco for a bike ride. It had a few hills and the twins put their 7-Speed bikes to the test.

 It was a beautiful day and for the most part both Ada and Navi did an excellent job with their bikes, even going up hills.

 Ada spotted a coin operated telephone- that actually worked!

Afterwards, the Lopezjoneses found a 300-seater dim sum restaurant in Millbrae. Everyone's favorite dish was the Fung Zau (chicken feet).

Salinas Overnight Birthday Mother's Day Celebrations

 After Navi's Saturday Rainy Afternoon soccer game the Lopezjoneses headed to Salinas.

 Benji was there to celebrate their great-grandmother Pete's birthday. Plenty of family, food and children running around.

 The next day, they spend mother's day morning with Abue and Abuelito picking mulberries. It was the only fruit ready, Navi wishes to go in a few weeks for the blackberries, plums and pears.

 Marky was very happy to spend his time playing with his cousins. Marky is growing tall and is more vocal every visit.

Most of the time at Abue and Abuelito's is spent in the back garden.

Out To Dinner

Ada and Navi's weekends now start with Friday afternoon swim practice. But first, homework at the Jewish Community Center where they participate in pre-swim team.

 PapaJason was having dinner in Corte Madera with Nonna and Grandpa this evening. After swim team the twins don't get home until 5:30 so DaddyQuique asked them for ideas on dinner.  They said they wanted to go out to, "that place in the Castro for pasta," they meant Poesia, the first restaurant they ever went to.  It's impossible for them to remember this as they were only a few days old and slept through the whole thing cozy in their slings.

 Lucky for them there many choices of pasta and they each found one they liked. Navi had the black squid ink pasta. They both were very well behaved and finished their meals really well.

And somehow still had room for dessert. Typical!

Early Dismissal Day

 On Wednesdays the twins are let out of school an hour early. They decided to go to the Academy of Sciences.

 Navi wanted to see the exhibits, but Ada wanted to run around and play. So Navi chose to see two exchibits...

And then they got to play at a playground. They had a lot of good energy to keep them going.

Fun Weekend

 On Saturday the twins started with Ada's soccer game at 9am.  After her game they headed to the beach.  Navi's game was at 1pm.

 The daddies packed a lunch and spent 2.5 hours in the sun.  Ada and Navi had fun digging in the sand.

 And then finally made it in the water. They said it was cold, but did not mind it.

 After all soccer games were done Navi headed home with his friend Matteo for a playdate and Ada hosted a playdate with her friend Giulia.

 The next day the Lopezjoneses went on a bike ride in Marin County. It was a beautiful hot day.

Afterwards, ZiaNonna made a wonderful lunch for everyone.

Sunday Funday

On Sunday afternoon Navi and the rest of the Lopezjoneses headed downtown for his first piano recital.

He did not seem nervous, but surprisingly confident. Later he admitted he was a little nervous but he did not show it at all.

He played two songs and he was amazing! His teacher pointed out that he did great at playing certain parts soft and loud. His dads are so proud of him.

After the recital Ada and Navi made it for the last part of a classmates birthday party. Most of their entire class was there and they both had so much fun. Ada was especially excited for what came next.

Ada and some friends left the party for a mini party of their own, manicures. Ada chose five colors for their nails, glittery colors.

She loved it and this picture was a shock to DaddyQuique. Where did the timid Ada go?

Starting Off The Weekend

The twins started their weekend with a little bit of a break.  Swim team was cancelled so they headed to Lafayette Park, which they have not been to for quite some time. They of course went straight to the toddler area to play in the sand!?!

That evening Gian Marco made dinner and invited his friend Lorenzo.  PapaJason was not there as he has been away in Corte Madera the past few days keeping his father company, his mother had knee surgery and was in the hospital for a few days (she's doing great).

At 9:00am Saturday Ada had her soccer game. After a few hiccups in the beginning she joined the team and did a lot better for the second half of the game. It was beautiful and sunny in the Marina Green. PapaJason made it for the game.

After Ada's game PapaJason wanted to take everyone for a bike ride, but he was called away (Nonna was ready to leave the hospital and head home). DaddyQuique took the twins on an adventure walk through The Presidio to see the Yoga statue in front of the Lucasfilm offices. Peeking through the glass into the lobby the twins spotted a life sized Storm Trooper, Darth Vader, Jango Fett, and a few other characters in miniature form decorating the lobby.

 Then they had some free time to run around a beautifully decorated/landscaped part of The Presidio.

 It really was very beautiful and with the rain SF has been having lately it was very green. Can you spot Ada and Navi?

 DaddyQuique gave them some distance and let them have fun and test their adventurous nature. They had fun jumping rocks in a creek and running through the grassy hills. At noon the twins met Kendra and Eric for lunch. The day was packed with activities to stay in the area. PapaJason joined in later and took the twins on a bike ride through The Presidio.  He chose a hilly path so the twins can test/learn the gears on their bikes. They did very well.

Finally, at four in the afternoon, it was Navi's soccer match. Back to The Marina Green where it had clouded over and was very chilly. Navi had a fun game, it took him a few minutes to get his head into the game, but once he was focused he did great.  He took many shots at the goal and eventually got the ball in and scored a point for this team. It was a long day that ended with pizza and a home-made strawberry/blueberry pie for dessert. PapaJason was back at home that evening.

Back To School Night

 La Scuola hosted their curriculum night for parents last night which the dads attended.

 It was exciting to see how the room has transformed with all the different projects and pictures on the walls.

 Ada, Navi and their classmates have just finishes their 'unit of inquiry' on their role and affect on the world around them.

Afterwards the daddies were about to go out for a wonderful dinner thanks to their last minute babysitter - Gian Marco.

Back To Normal

 Ada and Navi were both very happy to see their dads after a week away. The dads were both happy to see them and be home as they too were away too. A special souvenir got them both very excited.  Especially Navi because their latest bed time book mentions Turkish Delight, which he wanted to try.  By coincidence DaddyQuique brought some home from London.  

Someone else was happy to have everyone back.

Spring Break 2016

Ada and Navi spent their spring break in Squaw Valley to perfect their skiing, Elio was there to help them out of course.  They had such fun and had lots to say about all the new moves they learned and especially the jumps. Ada's favorite move on the slopes was the 'hockey stop.'

The Weather

 San Francisco has been having some odd weather lately.

But on Wednesday it was a beautiful and HOT day.  The daddies picked up the twins from school and headed straight to the beach for the afternoon. It was one day of summer!

Cousins

 Ada and Navi had SO MUCH fun with their Italian cousins all week.

 They got to stay up late and watch movies.

 Ada and plenty of friends to play dress-up with.

 And some big dinners too.  Jaxton made it from Sacramento to join everyone on a trip to Alcatraz and stayed for dinner.

 The twins even got to meet a new cousin from the north for the first time. Luca, his mom and dad were here from Canada with their new film showing at the Sonoma International Film Festival. Keep your eyes out for the film, www.colossalthemovie.com .

 Luca fit right in. Luca's mom, Alessandra, happened to be Gian Marco's mother's first cousin.

 On the eve of the Zancanaros' departure back to Italy there was one last meal out. Luckily they happened to find the perfect restaurant to accommodate such a large group last minute. At the end of the meal the kids were happy to play around a little in the restaurant and Luca gave a great dance performance when Michaeld Jackson played.

And finally, here's a picture of Ada, Navi and Margherita trying to hit the left over piñata head of a certain "pompous republican presidential candidate" who will not be named.  They had fun tearing his head down.
