La Scuola Camping

The twins hosted the yearly La Scuola camp. They were happy to be out at Huntley Mill once more.
PapaJason led a hike for some of the older family members and the older kids.
They made it out quite a ways.
More and more families showed up for the fun filled weekend.
Like every year there was lots of great food to eat.
But all good things must come to an end.
The twins found closing camp fun this time around.

Tooth Fairy

Somebody lost a tooth and lost a bet that the tooth would not fall out until the weekend. Ada says that she's got another tooth that she thinks is starting to wiggle.

Sunday Funday

Sunday morning the Lopezjoneses made their way to Pilar Point near half moon bay to check out what the fisherman caught that day.
Anchovies! The Lopezjoneses bought two pounds of the little fish to cook for dinner.
After the harbor they made their way to Half Moon Bay for a long hike.
The twins enjoyed the hike very much. There were many banana slugs on the trail and also saw fish and salamanders in the water.

They found a perfect lunch spot! Can you spot them?
It has been a while since they've take a hike.

Saturday Outing & Brunch

Work continued Saturday morning at the Lopezjoneses. DaddyQuique took the twins down to The Mission and walk about. A new mural appeared at the local book store.
The twins headed to the Mission Playground where they played for a bit on the play structures and climbed trees.
Afterwards they met PapaJason for brunch. DaddyQuique suggested Salumeria, only because of...
...this egg and fried chicken sandwich. Navi ordered one for himself and the dads could not believe their eyes when he finished it all! Or maybe they could believe it.

Playground & Zoo Outings

With plenty of time during the week, the twins headed to Golden Gate Park one morning. It was cold, but that did not detract these two from playing in a tree for the next hour.
The next day DaddyQuique invited his college friend, James, to the zoo. After 18 years in the Bay Area he's moving back home to Los Angeles and never visited the SF Zoo.
"I like James, he's nice," Ada said about him. James is great with kids, and has such good patience with them.
They did the entire zoo that day. Stopped at every exhibit. And boy was everyone tired afterwards.
A first for the twins, the sloth was out front and center eating and provided great viewing.

New Playground/Ice Skating

The twins left early morning and headed downtown and into SoMa to check out Southpark. Their play structure has been renovated for a year now and it is as much a wonder to see...
 As it is fun!
It is a very creative and modern play structure that really leaves it up to the kids to decide how to play with it.
This got a few looks from park goers. Ada and Navi had such big smile on their face jumping and sliding.
Afterwards they made their way back downtown. Stopping on the way for lunch.
Checking out the free exhibits at the SFMOMA and wondering through Yerba Buena Gardens to reach the ice rink.
Navi took to the ice quite well. It might have been his confidence, because he fell so many times, but was doing great skating.
Ada was a a little bit more cautious at first, hanging on to the wall.
But after a few laps skating with her dad's hands he encouraged her to let go and go on her own, at her own pace. Sure enough she was slowly and cautiously skating her way around the rink.

New Playground

The twins had their friend Matteo join them for the day. First stop was Golden Gate Park for a morning walk.
They enjoyed having the company. Immediately imaginative play started. A 20 minute walk turned into a 45 minute stroll.
After, they traversed the city to a playground they have never visited nor did DaddyQuique know about in Bernal Heights. Unfortunately, not all playgrounds are made the same. All three kids found this one's play structure a little boring.
So instead they walked around the park and found ways of entertaining themselves.
They spent almost an hour playing make-believe in the trees.

Lopez Camping Weekend

The Lopezjoneses went up to Huntley Mill for the annual Lopez camping weekend.
The original date was postponed and not many family members were able to make it this year. So only Abue, Elva and Ximena made it up. In the end the weekend was in conjunction with ZioLuca's friends' weekend and they had plenty of kids to keep Navi, Ada, Ximena, Elio and Ave busy.
They did get a bit of rain.
But the rain did not stop Nonna from taking her grandkids to the lake for a swim.
Ada spent the weekend sleepingin Abue's tent, and keeping her company. In the Lopezjoneses tent as soon as PapaJason left the tent Navi took over his bed and catch a few more winks.
It was a fantastic weekend and a great one to start the Lopezjoneses camping season!

Beach Picnic

The Lopezjoneses headed to the beach one afternoon.
Unfortunately it was a little windy, and not so warm as previous days.
So after an hour or so the picnic was packed up and headed inland for warmer weather and no sand being blown about.

Bowling Day

The twins went bowling in the Presidio. It's been a while and Ada needed a lesson or two on how to throw the ball.
Ada and Navi's favorite part of the bowling was the cartoons played after every bowl.
In the beginning everyone took a few pictures and they are added on to cartoons.
After their game they played one arcade game. The car racing are always a hit.
Then they went to the park for a bit to run around.
Headed home for lunch and went straight to the garden to play some more. Here's Navi with onion tip cuttings.
