Family Camping

Last weekend the twins hosted a camping weekend for a few friends.
Two of PapaJason's friends from high school and their families and DaddyQuique's friend and family from college.
Everyone got to meet 3 month old Sam, Noah's baby sister, and she camped - tent and everything!
It was a fun filled weekend with plenty of kids and games.

A Harvest

Here are the twins enjoying the bounty of the garden.  A lot of great vegetables are growing for them to pick and eat. This is only a small part of what's growing out there.
Ada and Navi cannot wait to see how big the pumpkins grow this year. They have Halloween in their minds.

Beach Weather

On Tuesday, right before swim class, PapaJason took the twins to the beach.  They decided to swim in the bay, the beach was crowded, but Ada and Navi were to the only two in the water. They had so much fun, click on the picture to see their big smiles.

Multi-Activity Weekend

The weekend began with a paddle boat ride on Stow Lake in Golden Gate Park.
Ada and Navi had so much fun sharing a few of their almonds with the local ducks that followed the boat.
Afterwards they went to the De Young museum to see some fine art pieces.  Upon leaving the museum they had fun following an art installation, that's almost always looked over, of a crack that zig-zags its way to the main door.
The next day the Lopezjones' headed to San Mateo County to walk the new Devil's Slide Trail to see the wonderful California pacific coast.
It's a portion of Highway 1 that is constantly washing away in bad winters, With two new tunnels built for cars away from Devil's Slide it's been turned into a pedestrian and bicycle trail in hopes that it will last a little longer that a highway.
That afternoon the Lopezjones' took a bikeride to Half Moon Bay, where they saw dolphins close to the shore as they had a picnic lunch.
With such a workout throughout the day Ada and Navi were treated to pie and ice cream. Then they walked over to a fisherman's boat where they bought a 10lbs. king salmon caught that day.

Fun Filled Week

This whole week the twins have been busy with friends and traveling to see others.  Early in the week Matteo joined the twins on their visit to the museum.  Afterwards they went to a playground and then home for lunch and a movie.
The next day they headed across the bay bridge to visit Noah and Samantha. They played for a while at their house while Sam was napping.
Then they went to a park to burn off some energy and to have lunch.
The next day Matteo and his dad picked up the twins at home and took all three to the beach.  They were excited to do an outing without DaddyQuique. DaddyQuique picked them up in the afternoon at Matteo's house, they had so much fun and have been wanting to do a play date at his house for quite some time.
Today Ada and Navi went to the Musée Mécanique and played video games for a couple hours. They even got to chew balls of bubble gum - Ada loved it and chewed all the way home!  Navi got a talking-to about swallowing gum.

Trying Out A New Routine

Monday morning was a spectacular day in SF. Ada and Navi tried out a new routine, one they will be doing for the next eight years - getting to their new school.
After a 6 minute walk, they arrived a the bus stop they will be using for years to come.  The 22-Filmore bus line took them on a short ride to the corner of their new school's campus.
The building used to be a catholic girl's school started in 1926. It is under renovations and the twins will be attending the brand new school next month.
It is a beautiful building in the Hayes Valley/Western Addition neighborhood, a block away from San Francisco's famous and iconic painted ladies. Ada and Navi can't wait to start their kindergarten year.

Bug Camp

This week the twins attended a bug camp at a San Francisco Quaker school. New to them was walking to school with their new backpacks and daily lunch inside.
Ada and Navi would not say much about onwhat they did everyday, but the best part of the camp they enjoyed was playing outside.
On their final day, walking home, they got to stop for some ice cream.  The line for ice cream was very long so they went for the soft serve instead, no line, balsamic strawberry and vanilla. By chance they got free sprinkles on their treats.

4th Of July - Happy Birthday America!!

Every year the Lopezjones' head to Huntley Mill for the July 4th holidays.  Luckily Elio was there to celebrate with the twins.
 Warm fires and yummy food.
 Plenty of entertainment.
And activities galore.  Ada and Navi did not see fireworks this holiday, but they enjoyed the time spent with family.

Daddy Daughter Day

Navi had to be ready really early this morning.  He was going to work with PapaJason.
Ada and DaddyQuique decided to go to Fisherman's Wharf to check out the Musée Mécanique, a collection of mechanical musical instruments and antique arcades.
Some of the old games proved much easier to play for Ada, she loved some of the 1980's racing games.
There were of course some older forms of entertainment.
And many many coin operated musical machines.
Her favorite game was an early 90's racing game.
Afterwards Ada chose to have lunch at a jungle themed restaurant.
She also made a stop at the playground downtown.

The Academy of Sciences

Ada and Navi went to the museum to check out a new exhibit they had on skulls.
They thought it was very interesting with the many hand on displays.
Something new they did at the Academy was to see one of the planetarium shows.  Navi thought it was fascinating.
Ada... she fell asleep.

Art Exhibit - "SF's Backyard"

The twins held a mini art exhibit for PapaJason when he came home from work. After spending the morning at the Children's Playground in Golden Gate Park they took a detour to the Botanical Gardens.
With a camera in hand and 10 minutes, they took as many pictures as they could of subjects they found interesting.
Choosing one as their ultimate favorite they printed it out and with water colors replicated the images.
They had a fun day.
