Downtown SF Winter Walk

The twins headed downtown for their annual 'winter walk' to see the holiday decorations some of the buildings downtown put out. DaddyQuique has taken the twins every year since they were able to walk, the holiday season of 2010.
Ada liked this sculpture and wanted her picture taken with it.
Before going home, even after 40 min in the playground, there was still a little more energy that needed to be burned. The sun was shining and DaddyQuique was more than happy to wait for them.

It has become a kind of tradition to take a picture in front of the 101 California building and their red ornaments. Here is a little flashback to when DaddyQuique first started the tradition.

Merry Christmas

After celebrating in Salinas the Lopezjoneses headed back to SF Christmas morning. The twins were eager to see what Babbo Natale brought them. And the adults needed to get their second Christmas dinner ready.
They were joined that evening by Nonna, Grandpa, ZiaNonna, Linda, Henry, Annie, UncleDoug and his roommate, and Gian Marco's friend Lorenzo who just could not make it to Italy this year.
After showers and in their pj's Ada and Navi tore into their gifts.
Ada was very happy with her gifts, it gave her a great start at her Beanie Boo collection.
DaddyQuique did not quite see everything, he was in the kitchen cooking, but luckily GrandmaAnnie took pictures.
All in all it was another great Christmas with wonderful people and food!

Feliz Navidad

The Lopezjoneses headed to Salinas for a few days for the holiday.
Abuelito made a yummy lunch/dinner in the cazo of chicken and potatoes. Marky Ada and Navi spent a lot of their time outside playing, with the Dog Larry, and when inside watched movies.
The morning of Christmas Eve the kitchen was busy with preparations of food - tamales! So once the twins ate they were sent outside.
Lucky for them Benji arrived!
Because Benji and Alexis were not able to spend the night, a little pre-celebration was in order.
 A few gifts were exchanged.
And opened.
Late in the afternoon everyone headed to TiaDalilas house for the Christmas festivities. (Notice Ada's head peeking out of the cane stalks.)
Ada and Navi got lotto tickets from their TiaVicky, nobody won anything. Ada and Navi asked DaddyQuique what they were and he answered, "Remember at the market you go up to those machines and say what it is and I tell you it's games for adults only."
The party went well into the night, but these three actually left the party early, even though they were not tired at all.
A big Christmas thanks to all the Aunts for making tamales- Yum!

Freezing Weather

The weather in SF has been really severe! Severe for a person born and raised in California. But that did not stop the twins from venturing out in the cold. Navi even took a jacket.
They were off to the Castro for lunch and on the way they saw all of the festive decorations for the holiday.

La Scuola Winter Concert 2016

Ada and Navi's Winter Concert was at the Herbst Theatre this year.
It was a beautiful theatre in the Civic Center.
Ada's first part on stage was part of the school's Coro, choir, class. Once a week for 20 min she would practice before school started at 8:30 in the morning.
The 2/3 class did three songs.  Once of them included instruments.
And the other two were signing. Which sounded beautiful accompanied by professional musicians.
Abue, Nonna, ZiaNonna and Linda attended the performance.
When it was over, it was way past the twins' bed time and quite dark outside. Across the street city hall was beautifully lit up for the holidays.
It was a wet night, but everyone enjoyed themselves and had a great time.

Yum!

These gingerbread homes look as though they have been through a hurricane. In reality they would have been eaten sooner but there were a few 'tummy' aches last week due to all the candy and holiday party food.

Busy Busy Weekend!

It was an EXTRA long weekend for the twins. Holiday parties, cousin sleep overs, caroling, more holiday parties and our annual ginger break making at the Blacks.
GrandmaAnnie and Shane hosted the twins, Elio, Ave and Gian Marco for ginger bread houses. Nonna and ZiaNonna were also there. This year AuntyKendra could not make it as she was on a boat somewhere of the coast of North America.
All the kids were excited and of course eating much of the decorations. Yet they all managed to get plenty of candy on to their houses.
Afterwards Quinn, the dog, put on a show by showing her jumps. It was very impressive, so much so that the kids started to get in on the fun.  Thank you Annie and Shane!

Holiday Party

Last night the twins' attended their neighborhoods annual Holiday Progressive party. First house; appetizers and drinks.
At the third house it was desserts. With such an array of treats Ada and Navi tried most of them.
By the end of the night, everyone was having so much fun they lost track of time. DaddyQuique urged everyone to head home, as it was a school night and well past the twins' bedtime.

Hiking

It's been a while since the Lopezjoneses have gone on a hike and the recent cold spell did not stop them this weekend. They traveled south for their outing and had very good start with some local wild life.
 And even more critters...
This bunny reminded them of Jackie and Pete.
It was a gorgeous hike, not as cold as it's been the last few days. But everyone enjoyed it and had a great time outdoors. The view for lunch could not be beat.

Great Start To The Weekend

Friday night Nonna and Grandpa came over for dinner and brought crab with them. Navi enjoyed it very much.
The next day the twins attended a school mate's birthday party at the Church of Eight Wheels, a disco skating rink inside a church right next to the kids' school! They had a blast.

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas...

It was time to put up the tree at the Lopezjones home. The twins were very excited to start.
With four people helping the tree was done in no time. PapaJason chose a wonderful tree and with all the decorations on it looked spectacular.
On the walk home from school one day Ada spotted a diferrent kind of tree. A Christmas tree made of bread at a local bakery.
